I am still waiting for my 2.3.20 OTA update, ive had my droid 2 for 2 weeks, so i expect it will be quite a while longer before i get it, just wanting to see who has it, rooted or not...

Thanks

Justin

There are ways of manually updating out there now. That's what I did yesterday and its running fine now with root.

how can i manually update, not rooted? without any issues

No update yet. I have had my D2 since it came out and am logged in at the Motorola Forum also. Guess we just wait and see.

You'll lose root if you have it. Your data should be fine.

i dont have root, and i do not want to lose my data and settings.... can anyone else confirm that my data will be fine?

and how to do the recovery mode thing?

i already have the file...

I got the update right after they first released it. I went to check for updates and it said update available.

DF Moderators get them first.dancedroiddancedroiddancedroid

Just kidding, it's absolutely random.

Yea I haven't received it yet as well. Is this stock recovery thing only for root users? Because I'm not rooted. Launcher pro couldnt have anything to do with me not getting it right? Just checking I know its probably a stupid question.

Rename the file to update.zip and put it in the root of you SD card (/sdcard).
Turn your phone off.
Hold the "x" key on the keyboard and turn the phone on (still holding the "x" key).
Wait for the "yield" sign.
Release the "x" key.
Press the search key on the keyboard.
When the menu appears use the arrow keys to scroll to "apply sdcard:update.zip" and click the OK button to select it.
Wait for it to finish.
When it's done use the arrow keys to select "reboot system now".
You're done.

I can't seem to find on the forums for the file. You wouldn't happen to have a link to it would you?

Thanks!

Look at my post a few up. It links right to it
