Tepes, if you have that icon my market isn't installed..... did you have one in /data? Also, check to make sure you don't have a basket icon labeled "black market" in your app drawer...

davros, have you tried to restore back to the last time you had the old, working market? right now, that is probably the only way to get it working again. Once its working again, the zip should install right over that... also, I am not sure if the MIUI rom has anything to do with it...??

Just a great job everyone!! That's enough code for me. Tomorrow is another day!

It keeps f/c on me. Uninstalled with Root Explorer then rebooted went back in. Move the file to system/app then clicked to install. Goes threw the install process all the way to the allow app. then f/c's.

What am I doing wrong?

For those that are having problems..... RESTORE back to when you had a working version of the old Market... once Market is messed up there is NOTHING that will repair it...... RESTORE a previous backup, I had to do this yesterday, nothing will fix it........ Once you have restored your backup, make sure that Vending.apk is installed in /system... This is an update.zip and Market HAS TO BE INSTALLED THIS WAY!!!!!! I am not yelling, I am just stressing that it has to be done this way and this way only....

It should install directly over the working version.... once installed you will lose the green android bag and you will be a black basket with brown boxes labeled "Black Market".....

You should be good to go after that.............

Ok, I am anal so I had to find that text that was still black on black.... well, I found it.... I also made some better looking arrows and changed the update all button that I forgot earlier (remember, I said I was anal!!! )

Anyway, those are the only changes..............

as always, Enjoy!!!!!!

This MUST be installed through the update.zip method in recovery!!!

Ok restored place the apk in /system went in and click it to install...install unsuccessful

Restore to working version of old market.... make sure the market is working before you start....

Download Darkside.zip

Put Darkside.zip onto your SD card

Reboot into recovery (ClockworkMod)

Install zip from SD

Choose zip from SD

Select Darkside.zip

Reboot....

You should now have black market......

Again, this is THE ONLY WAY TO INSTALL MARKET TO YOUR PHONE
