Who is going to...[Re-Revisited]-Vending.apk

grab a regular D1 template. open it up with 7zip. then, navigate thru the meta-inf folder till you get to the updater script. right click it and select edit. then, delete all code before where it says "ui-print". close it and call it a day.

Is there a way to use 7zip on a Mac?

I'm having some difficulty flashing BlackedOut.zip.
when I flash the zip and reboot I don't see the new black market. All I see is the stock updated (2.2.7) market.

Can someone help me out.

Try this one and see if it will install. I'm sure that you already know this, but install through Clockwork. This template was made for the Incredible. I haven't installed this myself, but it should work.

Sad to say that this also hasn't worked. Flash threw clockwork and it just stays at normal stock 2.2.7 market ..

Mbk. The whole point was to create a team style place where everyone can jump in if they want. Everyone has different skill sets so having more people gets the job done faster. Point us you and anyone else are completely more than welcome to help. And welcomed to do it. :)

So, I tried installing the blackout inversion, and it puts the vending.apk into my system/apps, but it doesn't appear to actually be installed, as in it does not appear in my app drawer, nor is it listed in my apps list under settings. When I tried to install it from the apps folder, it gave me the permissions window and said this will install black market and all that stuff, but then the installation failed. So I tried to re-install the stock vending.apk and it just fc's a lot. Sadly, I didn't make a backup because I installed the last black market fine with no problems. I will keep trying stuff, but any ideas that will prevent me from re-installing my ROM would be much appreciated :)

could be for some reason, if you're running BB3 or higher, try putting your phone into 'godmode' using the script in BB Tools.

IF not using BB, go into Terminal and mount the system as r/w. Sadly, i don't remember what the exact command is. i wanna say its:
Code:
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system

EDIT: Fixed code.

The full system mount command without a script is

mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system

I'm just trying to install the new stock market on Bugless Beast v.5 and when attempting install through Astro I'm getting the INstalling loading bar, and then a message that says, "Application Not Installed". I cleared data and cache on the Market prior to attempting the install. Any ideas?

The only way to install this is through recovery. Also, since you did it that way the market is now broke and you will need to flash back to when you had a working version of the old market then flash the new market....

My old market works fine. The new one just didn't install. The original post says the first option does not need to be flashed, it can just be installed.

Actually, I believe you're correct Parafly, that the stock version of the Market can be installed like any other apk (after extracting from the zip and placing the apk on the sd card) through Astro (or another package installer). Did you uninstall the current version of the Market first? If not, try that -- but make a nandroid backup first, just in case!

OK just curious here.. If you are going to take the time to reboot into recovery and make a nandroid.. why not just install the markets update.zip while you are already in there?

Well, primarily because the stock market versions (Vending.zip in the OP and 2.2.7_Vending.zip in post #3) are not in update zip format -- if you open those zip archives, there's no META-INF, just the apk.
