Why aren't MP4 files playing after 2.2 Froyo FRG01B upgrade

My phone recently got updated to 2.2 (Build FRG01B) via the OTA update. I have several MP4 files of converted video clips on the SD card. They played well before the update, but i'm getting the dreaded "Sorry, this video cannot be played" error.

I've tried renaming the files, moving them from one directory to another...nothing works.

Any clues about what happened? thanks for the help.

No idea but a MIDI file my wife had on her Droid wouldn't play after the update either. Progress!

I had this problem before and after the upgrade. My problem was the video just not compatible with the Droid. I ran the video files through Arcsoft (?) video converter and now my entire season 2 of Dexter play without a problem. When I converted them (again) I used the iPhone/iTouch presets and they play great! I would expect if I use the iTouch presets in Handbrake it would work just a well.
