nah, no worries. Let us know if that doesn't work... we'll get you going one way or the other. ;)

I had the same problem after 2.2 and it drove me nuts! Downloading the Motorola USB drivers took care of this. Got to do it on all computers you link the phone to (home, work, laptops, etc). Hope this works for you!

Here's a good alternative: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-applications/86675-wifi-file-explorer-pro.html

This app will allow you to connect to your SD card on your PC by using WiFi. You have to have WiFi, it won't work with 3G but you will be able to do everything you can with out having to hook you Droid up by USB. Add pictures, music, remove stuff.

It will provide you with a web address to type into your browser to access your SD card.

This doesn't charge the phone, so still good to have the drivers installed. ;)

As long as we're on a list of alternatives... IF (and only IF) you use iTunes for your music collection, there's an app called TuneSync that will let you sync your music and playlists. The lite version (the one linked) will only allow playlists to sync if they're under 20 songs, above that you need the paid version. Also, the format has to be something that can be played on your phone... so if your iTunes library is filled with music purchased from iTunes and is DRM restricted, you're still out of luck.

Also, for file transfer TO the phone, I've become a HUGE fan of AwesomeDrop, with dropbox as an honorable mention... ;)

I cant get my droid to do anyhting when I connect it USB. Ive tried different cables different pc's with different operating systems. Downloaded and installed moto drivers and everytime I plug it up the phone screen turns on and that is it. PC does nothing droid does nothing. If I try to go into media share and change it to Mass Storage it changes itself right back to pcmode and I can go no further. Any ideas?? Maybe I am just overlooking something.

I don't believe that you need drivers to charge a phone hooked up to a usb, do you?

Hey, I have a mac and it's just plug it in, just like the OP says.;)

A few questions that might help diagnose:
--Just curious.. what changes have you made to the phone (ROM/Theme/?)
--2.1 or 2.2? OTA? ?

I assume rebooting doesn't help.. if not, perhaps a reset?
