This app will allow you to connect to your SD card on your PC by using WiFi. You have to have WiFi, it won't work with 3G but you will be able to do everything you can with out having to hook you Droid up by USB. Add pictures, music, remove stuff.
It will provide you with a web address to type into your browser to access your SD card.
This doesn't charge the phone, so still good to have the drivers installed.
As long as we're on a list of alternatives... IF (and only IF) you use iTunes for your music collection, there's an app called
TuneSync that will let you sync your music and playlists. The lite version (the one linked) will only allow playlists to sync if they're under 20 songs, above that you need the paid version. Also, the format has to be something that can be played on your phone... so if your iTunes library is filled with music purchased from iTunes and is DRM restricted, you're still out of luck.
