Wife wants a TBolt...please reassure me, store phones were awful!

Played with a couple of TBolts in the local VZW store this weekend...they were almost awful...the two main issues were:

- Slow, sometimes unresponsive touchscreen (tap, tap, tap...hello?!?!)
- Slow UI performance (lagging screen redraws, jerky scrolling through app list, etc.)
- Unintentional selections when scrolling (scrolling through app list and boom, app gets selected and launched).

I rebooted the phones but that didn't seem to help.

I was in shock...I've been trying to get her to upgrade to an Android phone fo a while, and now when she's ready, the phone was just so underwhelming. I've seen demo phones that were a little off, but the fact that two phones were both so bad was disconcerting.

Appreciate it if folks can confirm if what I saw was an anomaly...

heh... i got my TB when it came out.. no test drive.. still loving it today.... no touch issues.. i had the htc incredible prior and the UI was also Butter

Love my TBolt. I don't have any of the issues you described. Super fast on 4G. 3G on this phone is pretty quick too. She will love this phone! I know I do... (Now Verizon on the other hand, I have issues with, but that's another topic.)

I was considering a Droid X or Incredible, but thought that with Verizon going 4G in my area I should get a 4 G phone so I now have a Thunderbolt and it rocks. My wife wants one now too she has a 1st gen Droid. I was hesitant about getting a HTC phone at first but I was also hesitant to get a full touch screen too.

These types of phones are usually borked at the stores. So many goofballs handle them and make every change imaginable. Often times the store reps could care less about keeping the phones running at peak performance.

I'm amazed people buy phones sometimes after examining a floor model ... lol

She should enjoy the phone!

I'm coming from a d1 and LOVE my THUNDERBOLT! None of those issues at all! This is my first HTC, and some people will tell you Motorola has better hardware. But I can say my mother in law is on her 4th x in 6 months and babies her phone! If that's quality, I don't want it...lol!
