WIFI poll

The Speedtest app shows 1,589/819 on 3G & 2,398/1,007 on WiFi at home. Netbook WiFi download is 8,000+, so there's a bottleneck in the Droid.

you should get more then that.... try it again.

i get 2600/809 on 3G and 7800/1006 on wifi so the speed difference for me is quite large wifi is more then 3 times faster then the 3g speeds.

from my laptop on wifi i get over 20,000 down and 15,000 up.... i wished the droid would fully utilize those speeds.

I have a great signal for 3G at my house. Wi-fi gets turned on for file transfers between my Droid and PC and if I'm home doing some sustained browsing. For the quick website check I just leave it on 3G.

I use the wifi on my phone only when I feel super lazy and use the remote droid app as a mouse and keyboard while I lean back in bed lol

i use WiFi at home and have tried several public hotspots with no problem. i get spotty service at home on 3g. so the wifi makes browsing go faster.

On my Droid I get 13521 down 1033 up.

I use it exclusively in my 3g proof home. No problems ever. When I cross the street to my friends house it connects to his automatically.

I use the WiFi at home and on airplanes with no problems. It's so much easier to pull out my droid instead of my laptop on planes.

I use wifi a lot when I'm going to dedicate some time for browsing. I get good reception all over tampa (north south east and west). I have at least four different wifi profiles saved and they connect automatically. Like another said, very handy in the old school buildings.

I use Wifi at school and here at home. For some reason I seem to get much better battery life when I have it turned on, even with a strong 3G signal.

I get great 3g reception at my house but still use my wifi because it is a lot faster. The two really don't compare for me.

I use it at work and sometimes in other places, although I sometimes turn it off. For example, when I was at Borders (free WiFi) I tried to use the Amazon app. It could take a picture, but then gave me a network error. Then I turned WiFi off and it went through right away. Same thing with BettrFlickr. There it said I had no pictures until I went to 3G.
