Will the Droid Incredible ever get Gingerbread?

That's Honeycomb (3.0). The Incredible is already on Froyo. As far as GB goes, no one knows yet. Should be SICK with that Snapdragon processor though

If you root it, you can. Gingerbread is really nice on our phone. Quadrant score isn't very good but actually runs better in normal use than stock froyo.

Spoke with a rep from htc yesterday. He told me in all likelihood the incredible would not get gingerbread update.

I believe one speculation/ rumor is we could have it in Q2. If not, that's all the motivation I need to finally root this thing.

these are just newer operating systems for our phones. The upgrades have newer features and sometimes make your phone run faster. Also, they have safety features built in that make it harder for viruses and bugs to get into your phone.

the new sense has better maps for navigation, has fastboot (turns phone on within 5 seconds) and depending on what phone you have, you can sync all your data to htcsense.com

I got a reply back from the HTC rep today. Good News! He said the Incredible will be getting 2.3 this summer.
