Will Unrooting Prevent Booting into Recovery?

My phone keeps booting into recovery and I need to make it stop because I'm going to get my phone replaced soon because of a crack in the screen. I'm getting it replaced with insurance because it's not covered by warranty, but still I wouldn't want Asurion finding out that I hacked my phone.
So I wanted to know if unrooting will prevent my phone from booting into recovery. I don't wanna buy Root Explorer because this would be the only time I would use it so I don't think it's worth it.

You'll need some sort of rooting software to get to system/bin and delete the logwrapper file. You'll need to rename the logwrapper.bin file back to plain logwrapper. I believe a factory reset will take care of this for you, but don't quote me on it.

I'll try a factory reset right now.

Nope. What you need to do is to sbf. Even after I removed the root I kept booting into clockwork recovery.

Everything you need is in this thread. It will bring you back to stock and solve that issue.

Unrooting alone won't do it. At least not definitively, there are a few files that need to be deleted/replaced. I can dig up some instructions that you can do with terminal emulator if you'd like. However I think its important to note that as ling as you pay asurion then they don't really care what you did AFAIK.

Edit: i am slooooooowwwwww

I found a root file explorer in the market for free and I deleted the logwrapper file and renamed logwrapper.bin to logwrapper, but my phone still boots into recovery when I pull the battery.

Edit:At the bottom of the list, there was another logwrapper file I had to delete that I didn't see, and now my phone doesn't boot into recovery anymore so thanks!

Delete the bootstrapper app, remove it from su, delete/rename the logwrapper again, and then factory reset. This is what I did on my d2, and I didnt have problems.

I got that to work, but now my phone's bootlooping and doing a reset through the Power+X menu is not working, do you have any suggestions besides an SBF? I really do not want to have to SBF.

If you can't boot up and are in a bootloop, sbf is your only option. You can send the phone back to verizon like it is right now and nothing will happen to you

reboot to recovery? verizon take it back?

I got a certified D2 from Verizon because my other on went junk. It came with this superuser app on it and it wont let me update to the new gingerbread software...ive done some research but will they take it back? Will I get introuble?

NO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS GET ROOT EXPLORER AND CLICK MOUNT R/W THEN DELETE, SYSTEM/BIN/HIJACK AND SYSTEM/BIN/LOGWRAPPER. THE RENAME SYSTEM/BIN/LOGWRAPPER.BIN TO LOGWRAPPER. i just did this yesterday and it worked. P.S. factory reset wont work
