Wireless costs spiraling out of control

I'm guessing you failed to read my entire post. We are on a 2 year contract. That should have given you the clear message of what we paid for to begin with. Kid, I was there to pay for the phones and plans. I was there to see the $300 knocked off of the total cost for the phones itself. Why do you insist to beg different when you weren't there and I was? Hell, I've got all the receipts still. Your response, to my post, is dumb. No offense.

But now that you're saying this, I'll go ahead and label you a complainer. Why? Well you brought this to our attention. When I ran into issues with Verizon, I sure didn't make a thread about it. I went ahead and challenged Verizon with my evidence.

Bottom line, if you're unsatisfied, either switch carriers, switch to a non-contract phone, or challenge your carrier for their unjustified rates and fees.

Im not the one who started this thread there guy. And I think your receipt probably just showed the full retail price of the phones and then showed the new every two discounts being applied which brought the phones down to a more reasonable price. The DROID 2 was not $400 with a contract when it came out. The highest priced phones you can buy with a new contract is the 4g phones which are $299 at most. I wasn't trying to tell you what you paid or that you we're wrong but you said $200-300 is cheap and your eyes and im just telling you that's what phones cost.

Holy drubians... do you have reading comprehension problems? Don't try to challenge what I've paid for. Leave it alone and go disagree with someone else.

^^ I don't think he's disagreeing with how much you payed rather he's trying to tell you, you got ripped off. I had to go and buy my grandmas Iphone, end cost was 300, now unless your state charges more then cali's rediculous taxes it should have been roughly the same... like I said I'm not disputing how much you payed, just saying how much it should have been.

He's not trying to be a jerk or anything, if you payed $400 on contract for a Droid2 you got played like a fiddle, plain and simple.

Probably ended up with 8 accessories "included".

They almost got me with the "included" accessories when we bought our two OG Droids. He was pretty slick, allowing us to believe the cases, car chargers and screen protectors were included. Imagine my surprise when I was expecting the total to be less than $400.00 and it was over $600.00. He was a little upset when I canceled the accessories and took just the phones for less than the $400.00 which I planned on spending. To this day, I buy most of my accessories elsewhere.

I would wait untill a sale. I got my droid incredible last year for free on a black friday wich was 200 at the time. And if everyone on your plan is not in need of a smartphone they can live without it. Some people get smartphones JUST TO HAVE THEM and dont use most of the features. If you want quality and up to date stuff then you need to pay for it.

Hate to say it but people bring this crap on on their own. You think Verizon didn't notice data usage jump when people started hacking their phones and using wireless tethering for free? When people started stealing music and dvds, music and dvd prices went up. People start stealing data and of course Verizon is going to find a way to get their money.

Also, I won't have to worry about this for a while but a lot of people get their 12 year old a smart phone and complain about data prices ( not talking about you specifically, OP, just people in general). The day my child gets a smart phone is the day my child gets a job.
