Oh well... I'm not worried. It sounds like 246 is indeed the OTA at this point, and they're just putting it on hold for now until after the Atrix 2 has had its turn. Don't know why the **** they can't send out more than one measily file at a time, but whatever. I've got other things to look forward to, like my new screen and case and screen protectors. So I can at least say that I'm looking forward to at least a nice hardware upgrade soon.

At the risk of sounding stupid, if Punit Soni has stepped in re. 246 and said nothing is going to stop it, what would the point of a soak test even be?

That wasn't in response to avoiding a soak altogether. We have history on that scenario so we know it was possible. More in response to having it happen this week.

im gonna do it, im jumping with you HoB to get to 246 from my 905 read it thru and thru and doing it after my bros bday dinner tonight! apparently i dont have CWM recovery... i never flashed it, thank god haha...

Bootstrap recovery isn't an issue. Safestrap recovery is. Pay attention! And if you wait a couple hours, I may have 7.0 done. I'm working on it now. If I do it right it won't take a long time to write it. It doesn't change the functionality at all, but, will be way simpler to use when I'm done. Advanced users are going to shoot me at first. But screw them.

Then again............ A soak test invite does not always mean an imminent soak test. I can remember at least one instance where the invite came quite some time before the soak, to the point that I forgot there WAS a soak coming up.

Yeah, the soak invites went out on 4-30-'12, actual test came out on 6-7-'12. Still have both of them in my e-mail, in case I needed them for future reference.

I'm already losing faith in the "new" Motorola, to be honest. Pages of public promises to "make things right" and then we get leapfrogged by a device I didn't even know was up for an ICS release.

well i wont be doing it until like 9-10pm tonight so, yeah i got some time haha... and hypothetical question (as i want to be 100% before i mess with my phone) couldnt i just boot into recovery and chose the install like it were any other one? and if that were possible would i need to do the wipes as if i was using a custom rom.

I don't feel like jumping to .246 because I don't want to mess with anymore leaks.

Until then, I'm ****ing staying on .905 whether we're waiting two weeks from now or two DECADES from now.

He promised "changes" and three days later you're already giving up? Maybe I missed it but the head guy never said the Bionic OTA will occur this week on with no soak. That was all rumors mixed together with a healthy dose of Sarge's "updates." You've followed these threads (200+ pages and now 50+ here) When people get bored with no updates or new info they start rumors and post things like, "wouldn't it be cool if..."

Boil down everything we know for certain that isn't rumors, lies, or conjecture and it could probably all be summed up in one paragraph of one post.

Correct no where in any of my post did i give a time or day neither did punit soni we will get it soon just be patient like i keep saying rome wasnt built in a day an yet ur saying the negotiations are taking to long (its only been 48 hrs in business days) an google has only been in charge of moto for a few weeks i am sorry but things just dont happen over night be realistic
