Who's thoughts are we going off of?
Holy hell people. CALM DOWN. NO ONE told you ANYTHING about getting an OTA this week. In fact, they SPECIFICALLY SAID Q4 which doesn't start til next week. How many times do I need to tell people to STOP GETTING YOUR EXPECTATIONS UP BASED ON RUMORS AND SPECULATION?? Wow.....just wow.
True, but no one said anything about the Atrix 2 getting an OTA this week either, they SPECIFICALLY SAID "Further Plans Coming Soon" which to me means "Not even close to update time". You'd think for ONCE, they could throw US a bone and get it done AHEAD of schedule. Now I get the feeling that they are laughing at us - "Hahahahaha we SAID Q4, so we're gonna MAKE 'EM WAIT until Q4" No sense getting it to us early and risk giving someone a heart attack.

I meant people are letting their thoughts get them all worked up. I think we can be patient a little longer. Or forget about the whole OTA.
If you flash a leak and we never get ICS or JB, why do we care about an FXZ?
;; ....I'm sorry, but, I think you fail to realize how complicated the timing of these releases are. If 244 was supposed to be OTA 2 weeks ago, we'd already be out there by now and it would make sense that the Atrix 2 was next in line. What, they're supposed to f up their whole schedule because they've been screwed around with by VZW? NOT...GONNA...HAPPEN. These things are in the pipeline for almost a month. They don't just turn them on and off on a dime. Getting upset because ours was delayed and another phone goes first is kinda ridiculous IMO.

Guys. We are forgetting an important factor of the ATRIX 2 getting ICS. It is on a different network. One that isn't going through what Verizon is doing to the BIONIC. That has to be a very important factor.
What I am saying is simply WHERE did this Atrix 2 update COME from? No one even said it was imminent, they just changed it to "Further Plans Coming Soon" from "Q3 2012". Punit Soni should NEVER had made the statement about "special plans" for the Bionic if HE knew the Atrix 2 release was imminent. He should have taken it upon himself to give us a heads up that they were first.
True. We should all remember that the manufacturer's FAVORITE carrier, AT&T, will ALWAYS get nice stuff ahead of Verizon. Verizon thrives on pissing device manufacturers off, other carriers are not so bad. Hell, they pissed Apple off so badly that the iPhone was exclusive to AT&T through 4 generations.

people, chill. There are so many variables that we don't even know about moto's other phones on other carriers. Development status, relationship with other carriers besides Verizon. For all we know something was in the works for the Atrix 2 but nothing was guaranteed in the process so they couldn't post dates. The development/update process isn't the same for all phones on all carriers. I for one am happy they got an update as I am sure they are upset as well. Yes we still have to wait but its obvious that the new Moto can't just make things happen for all phones at the same time on all carriers. We know tidbits of info, thats it. not the whole picture. We have great a great resource here with the HOB if you really are sick of waiting....then dont.
Big lesson to be learned here is simple - NEVER buy a device without the word "Nexus" in the name. And if you buy a Nexus on VERIZON, plan to rely on ROM developers for timely support, because VERIZON even screws up the Nexus experience. You live and learn. When I bought the Bionic, I honestly expected something at least CLOSE to the OG Droid. Never again will I buy a device with a "manufacturer modified" version of Android. It's AOSP from here on out, or nothing.
