Damage control on whose part? Verizon and Google/Motorola damage control would be finding the source of the leak and stopping the leak at the source. Verizon and Google/Motorola should not have any influence on this forum. If they do, DF should say so.
I'd like to know the real reason why the mods deleted the .244 thread. Was it out of some over-abundance of caution for a supposed source within Motorola? Did DF actually confirm that there is, in fact, a source in Motorola? And even if they did, as a supposed news aggregator, should they? It is not DF's responsibility, nor is it right for them to protect "sources" when the source is not a news source. That's one thing that's bothering me about this. This whole situation has not been newsworthy because no one is reporting it. It is only heresay and rumor posted in an online forum.
Let me clarify something: I am certainly NOT calling anyone a liar. On the contrary, I'm looking for the underlying proof, the reason behind what's going on, because what's going on does not make sense. Verizon and Google/Motorola's corporate information security groups are not stopping the supposed leaks, which is what they most certainly do if this were as sensitive as it is being portrayed here. That means either there is no leaking going on, or the news that's being leaked is being done on purpose.
