Worst phone/worst customer service

Grrr...what a headache! I'm off to work so i'll have to do this later...thanks...i'll prob need help with the sd card tho :(
 
OP, just so we're on the same page, i want you to have a good experience with your phone. we all love the phone (especially me) and have lots of good advice to improve your overall experience with it.

Android is a new platform for people to get used to. it's not so much that it's new technology as it is a new concept. people have been ingrained with RIM, iPhone, Windows Mobile and dumb phone software for so long, many are confused when confronted with Android.

it's a little bit of a learning curve, but once you understand the basics, it's a very rewarding experience. ;)
 
Whoa 640k!! It says in my downloaded apps under market, that i HAVE advanced task killer installed and google maps!!! Last wed i uninstalled advanced task killer on my 2nd droid while on phone with service tech and installed taskiller after recommendation form tech...but that was my second phone. This is a new one that i got on monday...and haven't installed a single app!!! Is verizon messing with me and pretending to give me replacements?
Thats almost uncalled for blaming Verizon. I have read the whole thread and i think it may be more your problems have been spread from one phone to another or you have been doing the same app downloading from one phone to another. I have a very very hard time beliving that you have had the same exact problems with three different droids. Maybe it is more like three different droids have had the same operator. Try and compare notes with another droid owner hand in hand and see what it is that you both do differently when using the same phone.

aacanela73, let's not flame OP. she has been very responsive with our requests and is working to resolve the problem based on our guide. i think there is an obvious misunderstanding of how the device works, which we are working to help the OP understand.

we'll get this sorted out, but it may be that this device is just not suited for the OP. only time and patience will tell.

Sorry to clog up this thread with a post that isn't *strictly* necessary but I had to chime in. Nearly everyone posting here has, in my view, done a fantastic job at helping out the OP with calm guidance and judgement-free advice. Kudos to everyone lending a helping hand without the expectation of expertise on the part of the recipient. You guys are aces in my book!
 
I actually applaud the OP for putting in the effort to get the phone up and running. She had an opportunity to trade within her 30 days, (after what sounds like a bad customer experience at a VZW store) but didn't. Often issues reported here are either app-related or user-error, but at least she's trying to figure that out. Let's turn her into a Droid success story. I'm she'll appreciate it and pass on the word.
 
Yeah, the best thing to do is reset the phone to factory and keep it that way for a few days without installing any apps. This will determine whether it is a factory OS problem or Hardware instead of something that was dragged over from the switch to the phone in the first place when they did the contacts transfer.
 
Sorry, I just get so aggrivated at all of the Verizon CSR bashing that seems to happen alot. Most of the time I hold my thoughts but this seems like something from the first phone keeps getting transfered to the new ones and it keeps giving the new phones the same problem. It depends on what method they are using to transfer the data from one phone to another also. We have two methods in out store. So who knows.
 
OP - how many times have they transferred your contacts?

I would expect that this should have only happened *one* time. After that point, the Droid would have synced the contacts into Google's cloud and replacement phones would have pulled them down from the user account. There wouldn't be a reason to keep transferring them manually to every replacement phone...

I have one suggestion and rather than doing any more uninstalls and change settings , I have the best advice and I will GUARANTEE that it will work

You have 30 days to exchange phone for a new one......Get a brand new phone , BUT , DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT have them transfer anything over to your new phone. Start over from scratch , enter your contacts manually and do not download task killer. I have heard VZW salesman say that it is the best in the world...but , in reallity from searching this forum and other forums it is not advisable. In fact if I am not mistaken , the 2.1 update will have its own task killer and should work better than the app markets.

DO NOT PASS GO DO NOT COLLECT $200............get new phone and start off from scratch !!!!!!
 
My guess since it's his first post is that there is a good possibility he's a troll. Sorry, got to call them like I see them. If he's not a troll then why not comment on some of the feedback that everyone gave him. This is the second suspected troll post I've seen and it's early yet.

Guys have a real life as well, if he wont aswer within 2 days, u know its trolling. but before that, i wouldnt automatically assume it!

@kooterdee - We have 5 DROIDS at work. One is doing EXACTLY this same stuff. The google box with half-height highlight (top half missing) being the most recent complaint that I received and the only one that i've visually confirmed myself. Now I believe what i've been told about the other issues. So, I'll get the phone and root it so I can play a bit. I'll let you know what i find.
