Would u have gotten the charge?

That is true that the droid devices lock on to GPS very well. I will admit I have been a little disappointed with vzw and htc over the last ota. Now I had intended on hacking this device from the get go, so I am not as upset by the ota because I am running a Rom. But I am disappointed for the people who don't root who I recommended the device to. The tbolt is still a good device but I have to admit it has been a rough couple of months since it's release. I am hoping that htc get on it and fix the issue for those who don't root.

When I talk to my friends and co-workers about there phones and they are disappointed with their phones and want to replace it, it's always about the performance and never about how unattractive their phones look. Seriously it seems as though Samsung's target market is customers who are concerned about appearance and a lot of customers will only make that mistake once.

The other issue I have with Samsung is their lack of support for keeping their products O.S. current. I will have to give them credit because the Charge is a nice looking phone despite how large it is.

I do plan on rooting my phone, I'm just giving the whole rooting process for the TB a little more time to become more stable. The minor issues I've seen with rooting the TB have been fixed by simply repeating steps and/or restarting the phone, but that isn't going to work for me. I'll wait until they have it down so that everything, provided the steps are done right will go smoothly without any hiccups.

I'm not a fan of samsung. The only reason I'd even go to the store to play with it is cause I'm a technology geek. Not that I know a lot, but I just love technology. At the end of the day both phones have their advantages but from what I've seen, thunderbolt is a far better performer.

I was clueless about rooting...i tried it one day and it was done. I got so scared that mid way I asked the guy helping if I could just leave it at that. Lol

It's really not bad. Just install the mirrors. And begin copy and pasting.

I feel like after rooting this phone I have a phone that I want...and not the one verizon wanted me to have.

I here you on that one, I too am a techno geek. The only reason why I haven't gone to the store simply to play with the phone is because I'm studying for finals. I almost went to play with it on the release date, but I had to get my priorities in order and study for my finals.

I'm sure it's not difficult because I did root my Droid, but for me, I need to have a backup plan no matter how small the risk of bricking my phone.

The backup plan is simple, because I'll just replace the phone with a new phone at the discounted pricing when I'm eligible for an upgrade in July.

Played with both today, choosing the Tbolt was easy! I will say that the Charge has an amazing screen, there was something about the build quality that didn't feel quite right. Putting a speaker, kickstand, and charging port in the same skinny piece vertical real estate was no stroke of genius on HTC's part either.

I've had the bolt, coming from D1 since release, for a few hours now and I'm impressed. I'll run it stock for a few weeks until I get bored.

I did wait and I just purchased a Thunderbolt if that answers your question. As others have said, the screen on the Charge was better, but I really hated the casing of the phone, it felt like cheap plastic. I'm sure it's not a bad phone and just personal preference issue, but the Thunderbolt was the better choice for me.

I'm not regretting my thunderbolt. The only thing that stinks is the gps on stock. On a Rom its a lot better though

I just upgraded to the TBolt yesterday, and made the choice over the Charge. I have to admit that the screen on the Charge looks fabulous, but one run of Quadrant on the Charge made me run from that device. Stock unit in the store had a 900. Thunderbolt was 1900. Would you really think twice about getting the Charge with that piss poor performance? The battery better last forever because that device must be underclocked or something.

My X was performing wonderfully, but I was ready for LTE and did not see a device coming that would better the Thunderbolt for quite a while. One day in, and I am happy overall. However, the battery does need some work. I have 14 more days to evaluate the device, but it looks like I will be keeping this one.

I got my HTC Thunderbolt last month. I have to say that I have been immensely happy with it. I did develop the same reboot problem when I received my last update but I did a factory wipe and it seems to be working wonderfully for now. My only gripe is that Seidio's case for the extended battery is still not available.

I saw the Samsung DROID Charge this morning. I cannot say that I was overly impressed. I did like the screen, but it really seemed like a step backward for Samsung. Plus I am still haunted by the Fascinate/Android 2.2 debacle. The length of time that the update to Froyo took convinced me that I would never purchase a Samsung product again. The phone looks nice, but I demand the customer service to back it up.

Did a factory reboot and no problems as of yet. I played with charge today and it was horrific. Super laggy scrolling. Display is all that phone has going for it..and hdmi.

I must say in no way do I regret getting the tbolt over any phone on VZW right now.
