A few days back we had a report of a "Safe" Galaxy Note 7 that caught fire on a plane. We were all hoping that this would end up just being either a mistake or false report. It seems like this report may have been accurate after all. Today 2 more reports of safe Note 7 devices have emerged. One of these cases actually took place here in the states.
Earlier today in Farmington Minnesota a thirteen year old was holding her Note 7 device when it became abnormally warm. She dropped the device and it began to smoke. The plastic case on the phone melted to the device. Thankfully the young lady was not injured in any way. The girl's dad informed reporters that the original device was purchased in August and sent back for replacement on September 21. Hopefully these were just a few non safe devices that were accidentally boxed up as Safe. If not the problem may have nothing to do with the battery and we may be in for a second recall or even a discontinuation of the Note 7 altogether.
