Your Favorite Apps, Not From The Android Market

Not apps but Midnight pool and bowling, Oregon Trail, Pac Man, and a few others I cant think of right now...and ya just cant forget Swype tho

What's the deal with swype and sweeterhome2, do you need to root for either or both of those? What exactly is swype?

swype lets you trace a line through the letters of the word you are trying to spell instead of tapping on each letter individually.

It's very accurate as well considering the one everyone has is a beta and I don't believe root is required.

Sweeter home is just a homescreen replacement that is very customizable

Wow, I thought I was going to go through these pages and find all kinds of new stuff I didn't know about.

That's because "qualifying" for a spot in the Market involves no standards to speak of. The "plus" is the availability of thousands of apps that might otherwise be available only on the "black" or "gray" market. The "minus" is the existence of hundreds of redundant, worthless or half-finished applications in the Market.

Swype was good in its time, but its days are numbered since it's not marketing directly to individuals, it's a hassle to install, and SlideIT is available on the Android market, and is as good or better. Take your marketing strategy and shove it, Swype (but thanks for the hack when we needed it).
