aren't you able to just freeze the stock youtube app in ICS and install the new one?

Should be able to. Essentially renaming to .bak is the same as freezing.

For some reason the videos get cut off the screen instead of fitting in, the sides are cut off. Anyone have this issue? Also, why does my youtube app look the way it always did- just black? It doesn't look like the app shown in this screen shot.
