Z2 force finally got a screen scratch when dropped on subway

Yep, that's the Shattershield Lens (outer layer) peeling, which happens over time from what I have read on the Moto Forum. According to folks on the Moto Forum, Motorola never made the Z2 Force replacement Lens available for sale like they did with the Turbo 2 and Z Force. It was only available as a repair option where you send your phone to them and pay for their techs to replace the Lens (or whole screen).

I put electrical tape off the corner to stop the peeling. If it peeled off would it be a glass screen underneath that would it still work?

It's four layers of plastic, aluminum and maybe some glass. Will it work without the Lens? Maybe, maybe not.
