Zagg invisible shield full body

I just ordered my InvisiShield on 11-8 and it showed up in the mail at work today. Although it was NOT pictured on their website ( ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | Motorola Droid Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield ) it DID come with bezel and side protection.

It is a LOT of little pieces and I might do this in stages (couple pieces every night). I'm not too worried about the bezels since I have the Verizon leather hip case, but I paid for it so I might as well put it all on.

The kit (SKU MOTDROFB -- Barcode 843404038008) came with the full body protection (sides, bezels, etc.), and a nice installation kit which has a cleaning cloth, an installation card (stiff credit card type thing), and a sponge w/ the application liquid.

I LOVE the idea of the sponge though because about a year ago when I bought a kit at Best Buy for my iPod Touch it had a spray and you were supposed to spray the devise with it. This you take the shield piece, wipe the sponge on it, then put it on the device (lowering the chances of liquid getitng in places you don't want).

I'm sure I will be happy with it, the one on the iPod has been great.

*EDIT*
Well the shield is on. I opted not to do the ones on the sides (like where the micro USB port is and volume/camera buttons). I decided this mostly based on I was sick of working on it! It takes forever to "do it right" or whatever, trying to get all the stupid bubbles. I have a few tiny ones on the main screen that are sort of bothersome but oh well, good product and bad user installation! Anyway it needs time to cure and to work the bubbles out, the iPod screen ended up flawless. I'm REALLY happy that there is bezel protection, turns out I already had a knick in it. Also on a quick test the touch screen seems to be working just fine and responding like it's supposed to.

For those of you who got the full body and screen protector did it smooth out over time? I have a chance to get invisible shield at my local best buy and have it installed for free. But I don't want to spend the money if its not worth it. I really like the smooth feeling of the screen but prolly could live with it if its a little grippier. I think I would feel better with something on my droid too though. protection wise

Well the rest of the coverage worked out fine but the screen didn't come out right. I want to make it clear that it was MY FAULT for not getting it on right and smoothing it like your supposed to. I was just being too hasty. There were a couple of bubbles around the middle of the screen that worked themselves out in a day but there was a couple more near the bottom that didn't. After 2 days it was bothering me a lot so I just peeled it off. Which by the way was very easy and left NO residue. There was no sensitivity issues either.

It is worth the money and if Best Buy will install it for you then do it, that way if after a few days there is still bubbles then THEY can put another one on for you. Just make sure they are willing to compensate if it's not installed right. I also ended up with a few imperfections on the battery cover but I really don't care about that. The bezel around the screen turned out good though. If you do it yourself just TAKE YOUR TIME.

I'm going to wait until my local Best Buy has them in stock and go buy the screen only again. Kinda sucks because I will end up at $40 total on shields for this but, its still worth it. I'm also going to push for them to install it so I don't screw it up again.

I had just the screen shield put on a week ago at Valley Fair. I really only worried about the screen getting jacked up. Now I like the phone so much I don't want the rest of it to get scratched. I will be going back to VF to get the rest done.
I highly recommend that if you can find someone to put it on for you, you pay the extra $$ to have it done. The Zagg kiosk by me, as stated in an earlier post, will replace it for any reason.
As for the question of stickiness an sensitivity? There was never a sensitivity problem. After just a few days it no longer felt sticky, maybe a little. Right now I don't even notice the difference. As
soon as I get home (I'm on an airplane right now) I am going to put a touch of 303 Protectant on the screen and see if I makes it even slicker.

I have noticed that the screen protector is starting to get slight wrinkles. It's not too bothersome yet but I am a little disappointed. maybe the material (urethane I think) is really to soft for a screen. It should be great for the body though. I know urethane is really tough stuff.

My invisible shield (total coverage) arrived a few minutes ago... will be applying later today and will give you my impressions...

Personally, I'm not so pleased with the Invisible Shield. I put one on the Droid the day I got it and within 24 hours it had a nice 3" long scratch on the shield. Since, per Zagg, "It was specifically designed to withstand the toughest abrasions" I was quite disappointed. I received a replacement that I installed yesterday and now have loads of bubbles, despite my best efforts to apply the Shield as smoothly as possible.

Trying to decide now if I try to take it off and reapply or ditch Zagg for someone else. I've had a Best Skins Ever skin on my Creative Zen Vision:M for three years and it still looks like new. So if I can't get the Zagg reinstalled, or it gets messed up in the process, I'll probably go that route.

I must join the choir of people who are not pleased with the Invisible Shield. I applied it this weekend, and with care, I had zero bubbles and is well applied.

Aesthetics and Use

  1. - I don't like the feel. It's not rubbery, but is tacky like cheap vinyl car seats on a hot day. This is a personal thing. But it's not for me.
  2. - This grabby surface creates a draggy feel on the screen. I prefer the feel of the bare, unprotected glass.
  3. - I don't care for the shiny appearance on the body, which has a slight uneven orange peel effect.
  4. + It still snaps acceptably into the Motorola GPS window dock, albeit a bit more snug than before.
  5. +/- Ultimately, I'm not sure I am comfortable with the lack of a true "case" to provide protection in case of an accidental drop. This is not a critique of Zagg's product, but of this category in general. Time will tell. I wish there was a less bulky Case Logic option.
Quality and Workmanship

  1. - - The covering is incomplete. As others have mentioned, the vulnerable corners are bare, and the outermost "rim" is unprotected. Since the rim is flat, it would seem that yet another strip of material would have been easily fabricated to cover the edge.
  2. - The die-cutting of the separate pieces was not sharp on my sample. As a result the punch-outs for speaker, Motorola "M", and other details were difficult to remove.
  3. - Lots of fiddly, teeny pieces.
  4. - - The screen piece was a teeny bit too long, so it overlapped the (4) menu keys on the bottom by a fraction of an inch. This caused the edge to lift within a day, filling with lint. I cut the lower 1/4" off, hence exposing those buttons. They now work better.
NEXT STEP
I just ordered the Wrapsol product, which has a more "frosted" matte finish for the body and a thicker, smoother screen shield. I found a coupon code "chatter", which gave me a whopping 35% discount plus free ground shipping for a total of $16.22 to my door.

Leckert123,

Please let us all know how you like the wrapsol product. I have the Zagg screen protector only. I am not completely pleased with it.

I will advise if/when I install it.

Seidio just released their Innocase for the Droid. These are supposedly the slimmest snap-on cases out there. It will be a nuisance to remove when I want to use the car navigation mount, though. I'm going to pull the Zagg stuff off when the Seidio arrives and try it first before I do anything with the Wrapsol. I might just end up using the Wrapsol screen protector and not the back.

Frankly, I've never spent this much money trying to find a good protection scheme for a phone. Case Logic, Zagg, Wrapsol, and Seidio. It's getting kinda stupid.....

I am a former Zagg user that has moved to BodyGuardz. I find BodyGuardz to be a superior product and they have very good customer service. I have a full BodyGuardz on my Droid and am very happy.

The Droid product link is here.

Had the Zagg kit installed at a local Mall Kiosk. Very happy with the 'feel' of it now, don't feel like I'm going to drop it all the time. Fits fine in my clip holster and dock. Good investment.

i'm fine with mine, $13 for the full body, put it on myself. easy as cake.

BSE usually has a slightly better cut, but IS has lifetime warranty. just take it off, go to a kiosk and get a new one free. if you go through the website its a $3.95 charge for shipping.

its not sticky either, if its clean it's fine. no biggie. and reflectiveness isn't there.

The Wrapsol arrived a few days ago. I should gotten this one originally. The matte finish back has a much nicer feel than the Invisible Shield. The smooth, rigid screen protector is far superior. Despite that I like it much better than the the IS, I decided not to install it since I'd ordered the new Seidio plastic case which arrived today.

The Seidio is.....AWESOME!!!!!! It is smooth, sleek and very slightly grippy from the rubberized surface treatment. Much thinner overall than the Body Glove and has smarter cutouts, particularly for the power button. They notched out the top trim piece around the power, ringer, and camera buttons so they are much easier to press than with cutouts only on the bottom protector.

I'm not going to use the Wrapsol at all. But if I were going to use a wrap, that would be the one I'd use.
