Zen Miui V2 for Droid1 without wiping

I'm trying this out.

Coming from Cyanogen 6.0

Flashing MIUI V2 over CM6
Flashing Slayher LV 1.0 Ghz
Flashing MIUI MMS.zip
Rebooting
Clearing Settings

Will update if I encounter issues.

Am I missing anything?

Did anybody else get the impression that the keyboard backlight fix made it so that the backlight is on whether the keyboard is open OR closed?

When I start open the keyboard the keys are already shining... I seem to remember the backlight only coming on when the keyboard is close to fully open. I could be wrong.

Keyboard backlight works fine here using this install method. Open it slow and you will see that it's off while closed.

agreed. Just stepped into a dark room and opened and shut and it's off when closed.

Someone should get this running and themed then create a nandroid backup for others to flash with....?

That's kind of what's going on now.
We are waiting for some fixes zipped to update complete with theme

im sorry, i want the MIUI rom and it said no wipe required... but i cant find a download link... not be sound stupid but where is it?

so its the same download file, but if you're coming from one of those ROMS specified you dont need to wipe?

EDIT: my bad one more thing, im doing this on a non activated droid, if i do the wipe will i still be able to get into my phone even though it isnt activated? im coming from ss4.7 so maybe itll work without wiping?

I would assume it would work from 4.7 I came from 4.8 and followed this exactly except where edited

  • I came from SS4.8
  • (did a normal clockwork save and installed 4.8 and activated)
  • I grabbed version 2 from the first post of the first thread
  • mounted phone to computer, renamed the file to update.zip and placed it on the root of my sdcard.
  • booted into clockwork and installed update.zip from SD Card
  • upon booting went into apps/manage apps/view all apps and Deleted data in Contact Storage and Google Services Framework
Everything working fine including my weather widgets etc. I did install a few apps while on the 4.8 (wireless tether, beautiful widgets and live weather, etc. since I could not get those to show up/work in the marketplace on the original flash of the miui rom)

i got it running without wipe from simply stunning 4.7!!! love it!!! really kinda deabting going from d2 to d1 (d1 physical keyboard is so worn its taped) but the software is insanely nice!!! hoping that one day this can be ported to the droid 2!!!!

I'm confused, you guys say delete data from google services framework, and contacts storage. Maybe its because I'm not quite sure is involved in these applications, but do we get these back? I guess if someone could explain this part a little more that would help in why I'm doing this and so I have a better understanding.

yes it will all resync with the google cloud.

Another issue I noticed is with Desktop Visualizer... you cant re-size widgets with longpress... It just wants to dump them in the garbage.
