I hope it's ok to post this.
I'd like to start a thread for users to post their experiences after upgrading their Note 8 to Oreo.
I'm not looking forward to doing it, as both of my previous smartphones experienced a terrible battery life post upgrade. A Moto Razr-Maxx, and Note 4 had very good battery life, which tanked after upgrading.

EDIT
Also, share any details, like did you FDR after the update?
And anything else pertinent to the process.

I am having absolutely no problems so far. Unfortunately, I will not be able to see how battery life is going to be because I also updated the smart launcher pro from 3 to 5. so if there is a problem with battery life, it could be either or :)

Battery life so far is my only positive. It seems MUCH better...

I did FDR.

I am not happy with Notifications I've had a few issues with them. They seemed sporadic at first but now seem to be settling in a little.

Well my son did his and I couldn't stand it, so did mine this afternoon.
Uneventful, and no issues.
Neither one of us did an FDR.
I'll see how my battery life is over the next couple of days.

I'm kicking myself BIG BIG TIME for the FDR. I forgot to backup my secured folder and lost a ton of stuff

I didn't FDR. Has been going great. Don't like the new white added to recent app tab as well as in icons

I use a theme so the icons are to terrible for me..
I do like the detailed notification drop down. Some apps really utilize it well. Kind of excited to see what else comes about with that.

I feel for you.
I just had a desktop hard drive crash. Years of valuable items lost.

Not to derail my own thread, but if anyone can recommend a hard drive repair/data recovery service that they have used, PM me.
(For the record, I have already tried multiple recovery software. I've had 2 crashes in the past and successfully recovered using software, but this time nothing can read the drive)
