Email setup

So now I have another question. I use the stock email app for my work emails, and the Gmail app for that. Sometimes, when I go into the stock email, it shows me my Gmail inbox. I did find that I can click the menu on the upper left corner and change the mailbox, but why is Gmail showing up there? Can I take it out? I don't care to see Gmail messages outside of the Gmail app. I didn't have this issue with the Moto Z but I don't know if it is the phone or oreo.

Does not compute. I'd start with removing all the email accounts in the onboard email app. Start Over.
