Just received a notice on my S3 that an update to 4.4.2 is available. My question is will I be able to WiFi tether with my tablet and Foxfi with this new update? Thank you

I'm not sure if it works for the S3 but it does on the S4. You might want to visit their site and check the list of compatible devices.

4.4.2 will NOT allow tethering without paying for it.. I just rooted and unlocked my phone to roll back and get my tethering back !

Works for me as well....I'm on 4.4.2 on my S5 and use Foxfi without any problems.

Yeah my S4 on Verizon works great. Yesterday my son told me I need to get an iPhone. After politely explaining to him "no DROID no foxfi, no foxfi no wifi in the truck" he told me he thought my S4 was a fine phone and should serve me well for a long time. 12 years old going on 20.
