I currently have a VZW D3 running MavROM 4 w/ Safestrap. How easy would it be to restore it to stock VZW? I've SBF'd before so I'm use to it but all the fastboot links I can find are dead. I think the factory rom is still in my non-safe but not sure. Could I just boot into non-safe, remove root and safestrap and be done?

Thanks for that. I can SBF it over 5.7.906? And do I need to follow this guide with this file or is it a straight SBF through RSD?

If you've flashed the .906 update, you won't be able to get completely back to stock. I'm not sure how good that guide will be for that. You might want to take a look at this page though [OTA LEAK] DROID 3 (XT862) 5.7.906 Update from Staging Server - xda-developers
If you're only using .906 system files, and still have the kernel/bootloader/etc from 5.6.890, then you should be able to SBF back just fine.

Sorry to be such a noob, but how do I identify which files I have (kernel/bootloader/etc)?

If you go click on the Menu button from the home screen, then Settings and scroll down to About Phone, it'll list things there. Depending on which ROM you're on, you may only be able to tell by looking at the kernel and baseband. Let me know what yours says, and i'll look and see which it is.

Judging from the baseband, it looks like you're actually on a 5.6.890 base, which is good if you want to flash the sbf. If your full kernel version is 2.6.35.7-g790a33cw30471@il93lnxdroid42 #1, then you are on 5.6.890 and can flash the sbf. If it is 2.6.35.7-g5fa4155xrpk47@il93lnxdroid25#1, then you are on .906 and are out of luck. My money is on you having the first one, and should be good to go with the sbf.

Yep, full kernel is 2.6.34.7-g790a33cw30471@il93lnxdroid42 #1. I would've posted that earlier but didn't realize there was a difference.

Reading up on SBF'ing D3s it looks as if I just choose the xml file in RSDLite and flash. Is that correct?

It's been a while since I've done it, but that sounds about right to me.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Well the first attempt scared the poop out of me. After flashing I was stuck in a boot loop. So I flashed again. Same boot loop. Then I went into recovery and did a factory reset and that fixed it. Now I'm back on stock w/o safe strap or root. Thanks again for your help.
