I was surprised by this?
- Can you really record phone calls?
- The app killer (long press home button) Cool
- Is there anyway the portable hotspot can work on a D1???
- Battery saving settings (real nice)
- MIUI backup

Anything else unique, not explicitly mentioned in the info floating around?

- A noob totally digging MIUI

Sigh...The charging STILL doesn't work for me...I don't get why...1.1 worked fine, 1.2 and 1.3 don't...What has changed with that?

Don't forget taking screenshots by holding down the menu button and pressing down on the volume rocker, and tapping the lockscreen button twice brings up the MIUI Music controls. Nice.

So I flashed v 1.2 and I lost root access, I can't use rom manager or set cpu or anything that needs root. Anyone have any suggestions or what I need to do to get root access back?

Root Explorer can do it or there are several others...But I still can't get the APK to work, even with RE...

So I flashed v 1.2 and I lost root access, I can't use rom manager or set cpu or anything that needs root. Anyone have any suggestions or what I need to do to get root access back?

I had that same problem the other day when I flashed it but it turns out it was because my system was full, so as some people suggested, the rom might have not fully installed. I was able to fix it by deleting a few apps from the system folder that i dont use. you can try that or you could flash v1.3..i think ZB got rid of a few things and it worked perfectly..

boot into recovery go to advanced then clear batter settings that might help

I don't typically delete the apk, because you may want to get it back...so I always choose "rename" in RE and change the .apk to .bak...That will create a backup of the app and if the other installation doesn't work, you can always go back and change .bak back to .apk and you'll have your app back! Hope that helps!

Especially on something like this, I've tried over and over to install the newer Music, but I can't get it to work, regardless of permissions, so I just gave up and changed my original back to .apk...

I dont think you actually lost root access. I had the exact same problem but i was still able to boot into recovery (clockwork) and install v1.3 from my sd card

Custom Recovery = Root'ed Phone
Superuser = Root'ed OS

Two totally different things.
