2 1/2 weeks after Bionic Build 5.9.901 ------- How's it working for you????

Belive it or not ripper that was the most clear I have been able to find seems I had all the peices already just no sequence to apply them in this has been most helpful but I'm thinking about staying stock till further information is available due to having to reinstall everything and lose user data really irritates the hell out of me.

Although I just flashed .901 last night, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! So far it really shows us what this phone can do. I too have noticed that some apps/games that I have bought from the Market, like GTA3, won't show up at all in the market anymore...but oh well, this build is soooo sweet that I don't even care.

Even though I had purchased GTA3, I had to revert to downloading it from "other" sources since it's now invisible to me in the Market, but again, I don't care. Did I mention that I LOVE this build?!

[it's faster, smoother, has much more solid data connections, and once I reinstalled GTA3 it even runs much better than before! You gotta love this.]

It works better for me then before, but I live right on the edge of 4g coverage, so it always wants to flip back and forth between the two, which still kills the data connection. Not quite as often, but still way too much.

Whenever I am not driving, and in a solid 4g coverage area it works great though.

Still think I'm gonna switch to a Galaxy Nexus though... just sick of messing with this phone.

Everything is perfect for me. Been on. 901 for about a month now. Don't think it can get any better until ICS.

I never had the data problems that others did, but there was no change.

Battery life is way better, so that's the good thing.

I think battery life is better than ever thanks to .901. I don't even run a custom rom on it any more. I was running th3oryrom on 901 and battery life was crap again. Just straight .901 rooted now. Works great!

I got 901 for Xmas thanks to P3Droid and my Bionic has been great, no more BSOD no more data drop and I have been in 4g 98% of the time. Personally I could care less about the time frame for ICS now that the phone is working great.

Hmmm... I guess I'm in the minority. Yes, the 3G/4G transition data drop issues seem to be pretty much solved with 901,but now I'm having major problems when moving from wifi to 3G or 4G. I almost always loose data and have to toggle airplane mode, not once, but twice to get data back. I rarely ever encountered this issue before going to 901 a few weeks ago.

Any suggestions?

It pretty much fixed all of the issues I had with the phone. Why in the hell it took Motorola THIS LONG to get this phone working properly is beyond me. Ridiculous. The update should be pushed to all devices right now.

Mine has been working great. I am in a 3G only area and have not had a single data drop since flashing 901. It will still be nice to see what ICS does for the Bionic but no dieing for it now that things are running as they should.

I installed the .901 update the day it was leaked. I live in a strong 4G metro area so data drops haven't really been a problem for me. My biggest issue has been holding on to a 4G connection inside buildings and homes (I'll call them fringe areas or areas with marginal 4G coverage).

I spent last night in the basement of a friend's house for my weekly poker game. My friend's basement has given my Bionic fits for months. The phone would flip between 4G and 3G every few minutes and sometimes drop data completely. This made the phone almost unusable for the duration of the evening (usually 4 or 5 hours). To make matters worse the host has an HTC Thunderbolt which has gone through 6 or 7 radio updates since its release and is quite solid in fringe areas. I've listened to him ridicule the Bionic for months as he happily hums along with 7 or 8Mbps speeds while my phone is essentially a paper weight.

This all changed with the .901 radio update. I sat in his basement last night and wifi tethered my ipad2 for 5 straight hours without a single 4G drop. I no longer have any 4G drops in any of my known fringe areas. It's a shame it's taken Moto 4 months to get it right but now that it's working I'm happy.

I'll also note that battery life is very good on the .901 update. I had at least 3 people connected to my hotspot last night for about 5 hours and the extended battery was at 50% when I left (started with a full charge). +1 for the extended battery!

So far no drops but my battery life has been horrible. It looks like I am in the minority here because everyone seems to get great battery life. Have only been running it for 3 days now but I'm lucky if I get through a work day.

2 hours after pulling it off the charger this morning I am already down to 75%. It says Android OS has taken 24% already? I did a few battery pulls, only have it set to 3G, Wifi is off. Only thing I have running is Bluetooth.

Anyone have any suggestions? One of the reasons I installed it was because the battery life was supposed to be great. Mine is worse.

Thanks...

Install and run the "Battery Calibration" app from the market. It seemed to fix my battery issues. You need to be rooted to use it though so I don't know if it will work or not in your case.

I couldn't have a 4g phone w/o my extended battery. I thought I would never be a person to make my phone fatter w one of these but with the hunger of these powerful phones it is necessary. My stock one was always dead. This one can go 2 while days

I read somewhere that bluetooth was a killer on 901. Not sure why. I don't use it except car phone and it's plugged in so I can't say. My battery life is some better. But not much. 3G all the time, rarely on wifi. Stock for now. Data and camera are much better. Also phone calls are me solid. I get a useable signal in places I couldn't before.
