Whoot great info!! Nice to know we're actually going to get everything and then some! Haha It's kinda weird seeing my BW skin on youtube but still cool!! :icon_ banana:
Talked to a verizon upper teir tech support member (you know how that goes). Anyway, for what is worth, I was told that Motorola has indeed released 2.1 and is in VZW testing modes. When will it come out? Who knows......vzw tech support staff says they are the last to know (they most likely are). Thats the news as i have it
For those who were asking about where to find the "Rotating Earth" live wallpaper:
It's in the marketplace. I believe it is called "EarthRot" or something to that effect. If you just search "live wallpapers", it is one of the first apps. You have to be rooted and running a custom rom that supports live wallpapers for it to work.
I don't know if I'm the first person to realize this or not (probably not)... buuut I don't think that german post has anything to do with what we'll see in our 2.1 update. They're talking about the Motorola Milestone. And the OS for that and our Droid's aren't on the same page. Remember they got multi touch when we didn't?
Hi I'm new to the forums but I've had my droid for about a month now, I've rooted it and everything. I was wondering if somone could give me a definite answer on what the 2.1 update will do to a rooted droid. I'm enjoying the enhancements that root has given me but my phone seems slightly unstable at times no mater what rom I'm running. Will 2.1 fix it or should I just do a factory reset before 2.1 is released.
I still am excited about the OTA but like most people that rooted I already have the LW and more homescreens. I mostly am interested in the 3D app tray, its still unstable with the ROM I use. Hopefully after we get some ROMS based off the OTA the launcher+app tray will be stable. Speaking of 3D app tray, does anyone know of a ROM/Kernel combo that works well with the ported version of the 2.1 launcher?

The 3d app tray/launcher is not stable on any ROM (not just the one you happen to be using). It was built for the Nexus One, and since it does not have a keyboard, the homescreen never goes into landscape mode. This is one of the main problems that causes the instability when using it on the Droid.
