OK so I really need to post my story about this on here. I am not extremely tech savvy, but I have been an Android user for a very long time.
Yesterday I bought my HTC thunderbolt. The salesman told me that if it was out of 4GLTE range, it would auto switch to 3G. I don't have a problem with that.
Since I bought the phone yesterday I have not been able to connect to 4G or 3G. I called tech support and they said they reset it and to take out the battery and it would be fine. Needless to say it wasn't. I called back and she told me to go to the store, which I did. The salesman told me that where I lived was a 'transition zone' where 4G was not working completely, so the phone was switching between 4G and 3G which was causing problems. So he told me to switch it to EvDo only where I lived and 3G would be fine. Problem is my phone is not picking up 3G or 4G AT ALL. There is nothing wrong with 3G network because I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab which picks up 3G just fine.
I called tech back a 3rd time and he said the phone was too new to pick up either or network. That's BS. I was wondering if anyone here could help me. I get NOTHING where I live which is so strange. Should I get a new phone, reset it, or kick out the Thunderbolt completely? I really like it other than that
Thanks so much
