6-14 [ROM] Froyo Kangerade V1.0 *Blazing fast, 7 Theme options, many extras*

ok, I have been working slowly on an update. Should be available perhaps umm.... late tonight or late monday. It would be helpful to list some features that I can add

but...

remember, source isn't available so many nice features aren't either.

Please also list some fixes you would like to see or changes.

but..

Please list bugs or fixes that are universal and not individual weird bugs. Thanks

The whole wifi connect and disconnect is an issue. I'm using the Chevy low voltage kernel. Any help is much appreciated...I don't want to go back to 2.1....I love this.

Also notice when I have the gps running with pandora and the navigation voice comes on, it interrupts pandora like it should....but pandora doesn't resume after the voice navigation is complete. I have to go into pandora and hit play again. Kinda annoying...if that can be fixed I appreciate it. Everything else rocks...thanks for the hardwork.

The wifi issue needs to be fixed for me to come back to this ROM.

I've heard people reporting general problems with Pandora and other Froyo builds, so I'm not entirely sure that it's something specific to this ROM as opposed to something in Froyo. I'll test it out this afternoon (as I'm cleaning out my garage), but has anybody else tried Pandora with other 2.2 ROMs?

Thanks dude....not sure if you have a chance to see if you navigate around while having pandora on.

This is also one I'm not convinced is an issue with this ROM specifically (although there might be something in the ROM that can exacerbate or fix it). I have had absolutely no problems with this build and my WiFi, but I know other people have. I have seen some discussions about this issue (Such as here:)

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...ns/49494-how-get-most-out-froyo-rom-faqs.html

I am using one of the P3 1000 LV Froyo ROMs and have no problem, although I did not have any issues before flashing this kernel either.

Of course, if anybody has any additional insight into this issue, I'm sure it would be appreciated by all.

Maybe I'll see if the GPS is able to give me navigation instructions around the garage and back yard ;)

Stop using a chevy kernel and try a p3, this fixed my wifi and battery leaks.

I would like it if on the boot animation instead of the droid turning blue it would turn the color of the theme. I'm using the strawberry theme and due to my OCD the blue droid looks out of place. I like things to match.

Oh I almost forgot. I don't know if this is just me but the battery percent on the notification bar goes down in increments of 20. I used to use Jrummy's remix red rom and on it the percentage went down in increments of 10. I like that a lot better. If you could update that that would be awesome.

+1

Good call.

lol yes i meant fore closes. I followed the instructions for rooting to 2.1 from droid life without any issues. My problems downloading the Jrummy ROM at first was like many others, i kept getting error messages and it wouldnt complete the download. When I was able to complete the download nothing showed up on my screen but my carrier (Verizon), notifications and battery life. I recovered to my previous ROM, cleared my download cache, wiped data and cache and downloaded the Jrummy Pink lemonade rom using the P3 Droid Kernel with 1.2 ghz. I have it set on the default settings and have not changed anything using set cpu. I thou

Looks like your post got cut off there, not sure if there's more.

OK, first, there could be an issue with the download. Personally, I try to avoid using 3G for downloading something this large, just because it takes too long and there is a lot of potential for something to go screwy with the download.

Second, your issues sound like they are related to the kernel speed. The two options I would suggest would be to use SetCPU to set the maximum to 800, see how that runs for a while, then gradually bump it up until the issues return. That will tell you your max speed and you can start tweaking from there.

If you don't have SetCPU (it sounds like you do), you will also want to double check that you are using one of the kernels specifically listed as working for Froyo and download a new one that has a lower max speed.

Personally, I'm using the P3 1000 LV kernel with the max set at 900 and it's working great. I'm going to try pushing it up to 1000, but I wanted to watch it over a few days to make sure it was behaving.

I changed my max setting to 700 but am still getting force closes. It might be the apps I am trying to use.

I'd still put my money on a kernel issue. Hit the P3 site and download a standard voltage kernel:

P3Droid Kernels

Make sure you get the one specifically for Froyo. Try the 1000 to start with and see how that runs.

GRAPE FROYO!!!

Cardock prior to 2.2, docked deskclock too. Can you see whats up with Handcent also? Mine keeps force closing after using it and sending double and triple texts.

Other than that, this ROM is AWESOME!! I didnt think it would be so usable in day to day but for something that isnt "officially released" by Moto or Verizon, its damned fine. I cant understand why these people dont hire you freelance devs and give us officially supported GOOD STUFF!!
