I just downloaded the Blur_Version.5.5.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US.zip that was emailed to me, it does NOT work on 901, it fails on build.prop, looks like we need one built to upgrade from 901 and not 893.
I currently received the .902 update and i am now in the process of remaking my 5.5.893 fxz file to be compatible with .902 update but will take me about 72 hrs to do my current 5.5.893 fxz file is .901 compatible if anyone needs it to roll back/reroot/unbrick u can download it here along with the .893 root exploit (need to forever root this is only a standard rooting exploit not perm)FXZ File ---> NEWVRZ_XT875_5.5.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US_CFC_01.xml.zip - *********** - online file sharing and storage - download
.893 exploit --> 1-click_exploit.zip - *********** - online file sharing and storage - download
I can assure you it installs just fine over .901. I was one of the originals pushed .901 and had been "lurking" the forums ever since and so this is my first post dancedroid I was 4ever rooted and maintained root as well as pulled the update with no problem after seeing all the threads here.
Does Moto know exactly which phones were pushed the .901 OTA? Of course they do. I was able to pull it first shot but those who flashed it may need to rollback to .893 as their MEI and SIM ID would not be in the Moto or Verizon database as having been pushed the .901 OTA and having been pushed it I of course have to input on whether it is necessary to rollback or not :biggrin:
You must be correct - the OTA you received was specifically for your .901 build, and therefore it installed. I just tried to install another that I downloaded from 2THEXTRM but it did not work. I will therefore stay on .901 unless by some miracle I get the OTA which I doubt I will get if they're keeping track of whom they sent the original .901 out to. I'm okay with this since I'm at .901 and my phone works very well.

This is the official 902 ota update. It's meant to install over 893. It's a zip inside a zip in an attempt to keep the confusion on moto naming conventions down, lol. The inner zip is what you install. It likely will not upgrade 901 but will upgrade a 893 43v3rroot while keeping root. Bionic902.zip

I think this is spot on, and the big M is rolling out two updates, one for those on 901 and one for those on 892. I haven't tried updating yet, but I think the good files are

EDIT: Ah, I see FantomPhlasher has given the 901>902 dropbox in post #38. Thanks again, Motorola, for your insane naming conventions.
One trend I've noticed. The ones who got .901 OTA rather than a manual update seems to be getting .902. What about the ones who manually installed it? I did that and I got the email this morning that it was coming out. Still says my phone is "up to date."
