2 1/2 weeks after Bionic Build 5.9.901 ------- How's it working for you????

Yep, on 5.7.893 I had to airplane mode cycle upwards of six times a day, on 5.9.901 I have to cycle about once every other day.
-BUT-
I just had a chance to test my patience almost immediately after my last post. Lost my data connection entirely while just sitting here at my computer.
Waited.
Little longer.
Not yet!
BAM 4g is back WITHOUT an airplane mode cycle!
So I guess I'm still having connectivity problems, but 5.9.901 can more or less handle them by itself... still a little aggravating that it drops data at all, though...
I think your problems might really be with Verizon towers and not the phone.

Since I installed .901 about a week ago, I had absolutely ZERO problems the first 24 hours, but after that I have been dealing with connection issues at least 4-5 times a day!!!! There are also times when I can NOT get a wifi connection either no matter what I do until I reboot the phone. I'm still not sure if this is all related to the phone or Verizon, but I am damn sure that I'm tired of it and WANT IT FIXED "PERMANENTLY"!!!!!

Where the hell is ICS???

I love this build, however being that it hasn't been officially released/approved; it has market issues that caused me to revert to .893

Same thing as usual with non-approved builds, the copy protected apps I own were not showing up in the market. Had this issue with GTA III and Rockstar was too stupid to figure out how to fix it (even though I told them), so I went back until .901 (or whatever) becomes official.

I'm now seeing GTA III, as well as MLB At Bat and the Escort Live app in the market as of today, I wonder if they are moving closer to releasing 901?

I haven't had any problems with 901. Maybe a few more data drops out in the boonies but a quicker recovery. Also no problem with apps but lots more updates the past couple of days.

Did the phone it self act any different better battery, faster?

Just no data drops, its actually usable in the fringe areas unlike before the update. Cannot comment on battery life, since I installed an extended battery on the same day that I flashed .901.

Downloaded the zip and flashed it from stock recovery, I did not have any custom roms or anything. This is my second Bionic, my first one died and would not power on anymore, so when my replacement showed up the first thing I did was power it on, skip the initial setup screen, and rooted the phone, with the forever root, and while the phone was still connected to the computer I copied the .901 update to the sd card, then unhooked it from the computer, and let the 5.5.893 OTA install, then verified I still had root, then flashed .901 from stock recovery.

Thats pretty much were Ill be I had my phone from start but I rooted first day and did manual foreveroot and made a nanoid. I used that to get 893 when it came out and maid a nanoid of that nothing frozen pretty much stock it worked for 893 should work for 901. Reason why I asked if there were any other changes I filled a complaint with BBB about Bionic I ended up getting a Rezound with extended battery for $150 didnt loose an up grade and kept my Bionic. So Im not in a big hurry because Im in ILL around Ohara airport in a strong 4G zone so data drop is minamal here at home its when I leave my almighty 4G zone I have all the problems. The Rezound works everywhere.

In the city I never had much problems with the data drops, but in some of the places I go just south of Columbus the data was completely unusable, it was better if I remembered to turn off the LTE radio, or until I got past Circleville (30 miles away) where it was not trying to connect to a weak LTE signal, but this would just kill the battery life, but I would still have 3g drops if I'm trying to use the data while in motion, now usually I can head out of town, and it will properly switch over to 3g without me having to do anything, and it will actually properly hold the 3g signal. Out of habit though I usually still switch to CDMA only, but that is mainly due to if I stay right on the edge of the 4g coverage, I can get a 4g signal if I hold the phone a certain way, but if I put it down, then it will go back to 3g, I just try to prevent the few seconds it takes to transition between 3 and 4g. I think though if I had the phone since the release day, I would of took the path you did and filed a BBB complaint, but I only got mine in November, I never went out of Columbus during the 14 day return period, so I never really had any data drops. Then the first time I wondered south, all sorts of data issues, I even tried to flash one of the leaked updates for some relief, but that did not help, then the day after 901 came out my phone broke, so Verizon sent me a new one, and I been on 901 ever since, and been working real decent, basically a night and day difference.

I think you talked me into it. I needed to hear from someone that said it really made a dfifference. I know where your comming from with the data drops I got a cabin in Wi and its crazy comming back and forth from there it goes from 4G to 3G to No G. The Bionic didnt know what to do. My first smart phone was the DroidX it worked fine it had a signal where it was supposed and didnt have one where it wasnt supposed to. Then I had to get greedy and go 4G and here I am lol. Thanks I appreciate your input.

Since I upgraded to .901 my phone constantly drops 4G AND wifi! Anybody else have this happen and what can I do to fix this?! Please help

Problems with data drops persist, but switch to 3G is a bit faster. The switch back to LTE is problematic, as are the reduced connection speeds.
