In the city I never had much problems with the data drops, but in some of the places I go just south of Columbus the data was completely unusable, it was better if I remembered to turn off the LTE radio, or until I got past Circleville (30 miles away) where it was not trying to connect to a weak LTE signal, but this would just kill the battery life, but I would still have 3g drops if I'm trying to use the data while in motion, now usually I can head out of town, and it will properly switch over to 3g without me having to do anything, and it will actually properly hold the 3g signal. Out of habit though I usually still switch to CDMA only, but that is mainly due to if I stay right on the edge of the 4g coverage, I can get a 4g signal if I hold the phone a certain way, but if I put it down, then it will go back to 3g, I just try to prevent the few seconds it takes to transition between 3 and 4g. I think though if I had the phone since the release day, I would of took the path you did and filed a BBB complaint, but I only got mine in November, I never went out of Columbus during the 14 day return period, so I never really had any data drops. Then the first time I wondered south, all sorts of data issues, I even tried to flash one of the leaked updates for some relief, but that did not help, then the day after 901 came out my phone broke, so Verizon sent me a new one, and I been on 901 ever since, and been working real decent, basically a night and day difference.
