ADW Launcher in Market

after playing with it a bit I have a diff opinion of adw. it is more customizable then launcherpro. Launcherpro is faster but basic. ADW is a little behind but makes up with its customization. I still have Launcherpro as no. 1 but ADW is not to far behind at #2.

same boat... adw actually feels snappier to me, and the customization is great, but LP is definitely "smoother" - though LP is a close #2 for me now :)

I live adw, but never used launcher pro.I'm also more the type who enjoys my customization. Maybe I'll look at launcher pro to be fair, but I think adw is awesome and I like the hidden app drawer thing, since I don't like my icons on the screen, that's for widgets lol.

Tried it before and didn't like it. Just tried it again and it has a ton of features. Dare I say almost too many for a launcher. Not as fast as LauncherPro but what it lacks in speed it makes up for in customization. Gonna play with it a little more.

any of you getting better cut to work with it. I could get it to work with the beta but now that I got it off the market it dont even see the launcher. even tried moving it to system/app but still no go.

Ive heard alot of people say that this isnt as fast as launcherpro... are you guys changing your desktop scrolling speed to 0? I did this and it is every bit as fast as LP. Combine that with the customization and i think adw is the better of the 2.

My concern is the uninstall if I want to do that. I heard the ADW was hard or tricky to uninstall. I like the looks of Launcher Pro... I am wondering if I will need either with 2.2 coming out???

And now a question. How do you theme the launcher to match Dark Edge? My widgets look more out of place than a straight man at a figure skating contest.

the hidden 6 app launcher and the FroYo like app drawer with 2 buttons plus the dots

not worth being able to have 6 shortcuts, if you have to slide your finger to see them. Might as well have them on a screen.

actually it is worth it I think. I like to put my games on it and just slide there it they are. Also you can't forget that these are both extremely new launchers, It's possible that an option could be added to add docks elsewhere.

and to others, how can you even complain about speed? It boggles my mind. I can already swipe through an entire app tray in helix2. adw in normal tray mode (uncheck galaxy s, that was made 1 page at a time) a small flick goes all the way to the end. It's faster than I really need, not that I don't appreciate it but it goes so fast that really launcher pro being a slight bit faster (look at it sideways and it shoots to the other end of the tray :) ) doesn't really make much of a difference. they both on properly maintained phones can scroll faster than you can process (just flicking) and they are both smooth when you are just normal scrolling up and down.

Adw also has very quick and smooth transition to landscape mode and back again. I haven't tried launcher pro for a little bit. I used it for a little while when .20 first came out but I couldn't stand the stupid locked icons... I know you can change what they launch but I didn't like the look.

I hear he changed it now so I'll prob look at it again, but I really like the customization options adw has and it's nearly as fast as launcher pro.

I think we're going to see good things from both. I only wish ruqqq would get back on developing the helix launchers....

oh man this ADW is way more refined than the first one that was released a while ago. i am absolutely loving this new version!!!!! i think im going to have to start pimping this to all my friends telling them they need to get it. as well as on twitter and the whole lot. this launcher is where its at. if u use anything other than this launcher u are lying to urself! lol

If you like to customize the adw is more you. Launcherpro works and is simple. ADW allows you to play with so many features.

I have mine set to 30 and the speed between the two is real close. Launcherpro is smoother (IMO) but not by much. I like them both honestly. I am running adw for a day so I can give it an honest assessment.
They both are good home replacement apps and if you just want something simple that works and looks good launcherpro is for you. If you like to play around and customize every little detail then you will love adw. You can not go wrong with either one.The android world moves quick because it has not been 2 months before HL was new and the king of the home replacement apps. But now HL is looking up at tw other home apps that has a smoother launcher.
Launcher pro allows for 4 apps at the bottom, but ADW you can hide the notification bar, and the app bar at the bottom. ADW has so many features its sick for a home launcher.

I read on the dev's twitter that 250 was about the right balance between speed and smoothness to get a good "feeling" swipe... though I'm all about snappiness :)

I just tried using Bettercut to put some of my custom icons on my homepage. Did not work. Says shortcut created but nothing there. Even tried changing some of the settings like not hiding icon labels. No go.
