Andbody else take a their Droid back today?

Today was a kinda sad day b/c a took my Droid back to day to revert back to my omnia with winmo 6.5 which pretty much blows. But I kinda just want to see where the developing goes and whether or not I will wait for the nexus. I just could not get past the laggy stock home screens, laggy scrolling(overclocking did help but....), and that darn low light camera(my omnia blows the droid camera away). I know it's kinda petty complaints but I didn't want to get stuck with a phone I am not 100% happy with especially if the nexus comes in a couple months.

Oh and that whole clause about being able to return Items that were purchased back between Nov14th - Dec 10th or whatever worked LOL I got to use the Droid over a month for free (Kinda) I didn't even have to pay the 35 restock fee!

**mod edit**.

The keyboard is what great for me I actually lucked out and got one that is bubbled. So I am good, but hey if you get the nexus let me know how it works for you

The droid is not perfect, but it is a great phone. It is not the only great phone out there. Hopefully the reverted to phone will be a better experience for you.

@ calpilot.... Why indeed. I think it is great that VZW has the offer it does. No need to toss around insults that are typical in a Fan Boy forum. That is not what this is.

As far the OP goes, do you what works for you. To be honest I am using 5X Pro camera from the market and have been getting great photos and videos since then. The keyboard is useless to me as well. I had an iPod touch and was happy with the virtual keyboard on that as well. I actually kind of like the weight and feel of the Droid with the slideout keyboard.

This is my first Smart Device and I love it and would never go back to a Dumb Phone. I am more productive at work with it since I have it synched to my work email acct.

Again, do what is right for you. Sorry to see a fellow Droider go, but, I think you will be back once again.

After seeing the performance of google in the last week i would rethink the N1,
google just gave us all a black eye.

Ya I will probably be back I am not sure if I tried 5x camera pro zoom is that the one that does not show the screen res correctly and you have a black box on the side. My co-worker still has his droid that I can play with everyday so I will let him know it's working for you heck if it works you might even already have me coming back after day one on my winmo phone again I am really missing android LOL

also ya that sux about the whole customer service thing but hopefully things clear up by the time it hits verizon

**Cleaned thread yet AGAIN**

If you feel the need to insult the OP for taking his device back and his opinions then do not post in here. Simply move on, settle down and post when you are more calm..

Respect his decision and if you disagree simply discuss it rationally like everyone else.

Last warning: infractions WILL be given out next time.

Dude if your gut is telln you to wait til the spring follow your game plan, besides even if you dont get the nexus no telling what will be out by then. What ever you get let me know how it performs, if it is one of the new android phones. Have some folks at work lookin into android on verizon but not sold on the droid yet

mine went back today!!!

Goodbye and good luck. You didn't really expect a whole bunch of people to say "I took my Droid back too" did you?;)
there a lot of people returning the droids! my wife just got off the phone with a verizon rep, who just got out of a meeting and verified that verizon is getting a lot of droid returns! The nexus is not out on verizon for 2-3 months ( the spring ). i like it, the keyboard is a big improvement over droid, but i still can't use it for what i need! But, she also said there were a lot of droids being returned due to people not being able to figure out how to use the phone, and that the new software glitches were causing a lot of problems for users as well! so a combo of user error, and software glitches is not the formula for a successful marriage! so all of you guys flaming other members for not putting the time in to learn the phone, ( which by the way, is not easy! ) it's not all the users fault! the OS is Tweaky! i was just starting to get the hang of it, even after it deleted my g mail in box without ever being touched!? i sent mine back because i can't run my e bay store off the damn thing due to security issues! a lot of functions like listing, $ transfers are not allowed. i don't need it if i can't use it for the primary reason of getting/having it! I understand this! I'm not upset, it is what it is, and it is not for me! Not happy with all the time i spent with it to learn! anyone want the 56 page manual i downloaded and printed off Motorola site!? I'm not going to spend the money even though it was a free upgrade on the data plan, why? waste of money just to polish the finger prints off all day, and see the time & temp outside when it's docked and it gets used like my home & office pc's? i have computers all around me 24/7! what if someone stole your home pc with all of your financial, pay pal, passwords, you name it! what would do? FREAK THE F OUT!!! then proceed to cancel everything! it's almost like losing your wallet!!! this goes for any smart phone that you intend to load with confidential personal and business information! you lose it, or it's stolen, YOU GOT BIG PROBLEMS!!! back to the old LG VX8000! still a ( Great Phone ) phone calls only thanks!!!:)

I will be watching the verizon android phones very closely and let you guys know what I end up going with. Really this thread has helped out a lot even the flames have a right to their opinion thanks for the input guys and good luck droiding!

the only good thing about the nexus is the processor, the phone is ugly as **** and 2.1 is right around the corner along with flash. Droid>nexus

you know I totally agree with you, the fone does need getting used to. Its not a simple device like the iphone, and for this same reason is why I love the DROID. BTW I also have an ebay store and I can do most actions from my fone, but a pc is 10x more convenient to use.

Nuthin wrong with discussion as long as it is respectful. At the end of the day the person paying the bill has the final say so.
People returning their droids waiting until spring is their decision, who is the say they dont return to the droid. If verizon is allowing it and the phone you really want is released in the spring it is a smart move.
Chiefkeiff Ima keep you posted on the verizon android phones on this thread cool. Because as long as the android market continue to grow we will all win.

That will completely suck so do you think there is a problem in the software then have u noticed when you come out of the preview mode and have the camera pointed somewhere dark it lightens and the darkens quickly and stays that way. I am definatly going to research it before i get the phone the pics over HERE look pretty good but I have not seen any low light ones without flash and HERE is a video test against the 3gs, man I wish they did the droid too but it's looking pretty much the same like you said either way. Hmmm how much do I care about that snapdragon I guess LOL cause the next 2 months on an omnia after having the droid for a month are gonna ssssuuuuccckkkk
Heres the same guy doing the same comparison between the 3GS and the Droid

I misinterpreted the point of thread. Stepping back and thinking about it for a sec, it makes sense to wait till you have both flag ship devices on hand to make your final decision. My first impression upon entering the thread was that the OP was choosing a Windows device over the Droid due to performance deficiencies, which is still laughable, but that's not the case here, so that's a moot point.

The title of the thread is misleading, but its all good.........the op explained himself....people just quick to jump ....we all were. We so use to a similar thread being use to start a fire. The op wasnt doing that he just inquiring who was going to do the same.....so as we said we are all good.
