Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

This is probably not the site you are looking for!
You attempted to reach android.clients.google.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as *.google.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of android.clients.google.com. You should not proceed

I dont really like the message that link gives me.

Why am I getting tons of warning messages about security certificates etc on that Update link....

This looks a little fishy to me..

Someone d/l it see what's up.. HA!

Not fishy at all, check out the link, it is direct from the source itself, google.

https://android.clients.google.com/updates/voles/signed-voles-ESE81-from-ESD56.fa406da6.zip

Update done. It worked flawlessly.

I will just be waiting for it to be pushed to my phone OTA. Too many rooters and such that could have messed with that link and removed some coding or something in it.

Perhaps.

Its a signed update though or the recovery would be balking at it.

these are the instructions the op provided from alldroid.

This is the OTA 2.1 upgrade for Moto Droid, it will reset your phone to non rooted status. Standby for someone to root.

Rename to update.zip and place in the root of /sdcard

Then reboot to recovery and install (note that you will lose root access, as we do not have a known root exploit for this yet once installed).

We do have a way to root it for those that do not install the update, but not a way to root once installed, yet.
