Android is losing

Neither are your mom jokes, you'll get a 3 day ban for trying to put some funny into a thread about playstation roms.

Don't start a crusade on this thread about the rules of the forum. If you want to complain about something that happened to you, start another thread.

this is usually a really popular topic for things that are not allowed on this site.. so they're probably watching real close hha... but its a good thing they're removing post, it only takes on person to end a intellectual conversation.

Why not rename the thread if censorship is so important around here. I am offended at the idea that android is losing and thus implies superiority. I was merely pointing out the irrationality of the topic title. I did not intend to offend anyone by pointing out that apple draws in simpler users, while more tech refined users tend to go for android. I know its not 100% that way, but as a power user myself I prefer the openness and power of the android platform. Sorry if I offended anyone gosh, I just thought there was free speech. Apparently only when its making claims about android being inferior. :p

If you will look again, I returned your post after removing the inflammatory portion of it. If your original would have been written like this and without the rest of what you added to it, just like what I left on there, it would have been fine. There was no reason for the rest of what you said.

i used a catchy phrase as a title, don't ruin a thread because your mad. do that some where else.

now back to the OP

and anyway, you can DO more with the iphone.. unoffically of course, almost nothing is coded for arm so almost every xml file and such can be edited with a simple text editor. plus iphone has portability, if someone creates a package for one device that adds a pull down bar it will simply work on every device. no hdpi or mdpi nothing like that, it just works.

@Insanelycool
Glad to have you back in the mix. I guess I could see why you are "offended" by the title... but when I read it, I added in the 'In my opinion' as its obviously from the point of view of the OP who choose that title to raise controversy and start a conversation. It would be lame and generic if the title was just 'Jailbroken iPhone5 vs. Rooted Android'. I don't think your really offended.. you just disagree.. which is cool, I agree with your opinion to some extent, and overall prefer the direction android is going over apples route. Just because the title implies something... it doesn't imply the conclusion of the thread nor does it mean that its the general consensus... the conversation is what shows that divide. Regardless, glad to have you back.

Wish people didn't get so mad over these conversations... I think it all derives from every power users experience with the people that they've met that use macs and don't know/understand anything about technology or problem solving... it certainly frustrates me... but if you read through this thread I think you will clearly see that the OP is not one of those users and is in fact very familiar with the technology he is operating. His interest is in jailbreaking it and doing mods in a way that presently can't be done on android devices... that's all. But I hear you man. A lot of average users chose macs and its hard not to associate the two together. But I know some brilliant programmers who use macbooks simply because they like the machines and security;
they tell me I am crazy for not getting one. People all have different experience with computer technology, as hard as it may be, you really have to try not to generalize all mac users into the same category, and rather take these conversations on a case by case basis.... that's just how I feel...

The xml doesn't have to be decompiled first? Like with a macy version of apktool?

as far as i remember with my ipod i could edit almost any strings or anything like that with ifile... there were very few XML's that were compiled to another language. simplicity at its finest haha=]

Really??? The compiled xml is the one thing that has been bugging me the most, because in order to edit it you have to decompile it with apktool, and the prerequisites for apktool to work are having java JDK and the SDK configured properly. Thats alot of nonsense to make a simple hexcode edit. I wonder how iOS gets away with not compiling it without losing speed or performance capabilities.

i was wondering the same thing just now... when i had an iPod touch i never really thought about that type of stuff, but that has to be pretty unefficient. but i do remember a few XML's that weren't in XML format they seemed to be something else i cant really explain without a device.

i had a ipod touch 2nd gen when it came out & i had it for like 4 months now its sitting in my dresser with a broken screen/digitizer, i replaced them both but it still doesn't work =[

i know... now my current & reallly odd problem with android is in my /cache i have like 10 files with a bunch of diamonds with question marks as their name.. probably because its not unicode text or something like that but i cannot delete the files >:( . its just ocd because its not hurting anything but its annoying.

i never thought of this but the XML's might have been compiled to something else.. but i could have had a library file installed to read them.

Lol. Why the hell are you looking in your cache folder? You are crazy. I thought I was ocd about organized directory structures... but you are on another level. What does your cache folder have to offer you? Lol.

Edit; you deleted your post I see ;) lol.
