Android wear update

Was going out to the wife's grandma's house to put together a storage bin today. Was in the middle of a couple conversations.

Thought I'd toss the watch on to make managing both easier.

No notifications on the watch again.

Disconnecting in the app didn't work. Thinking it's time for a reset.

Probably tomorrow.

Well that's a bummer. Hopefully that will do the trick. [emoji106]

Started small. Rebooted my phone. So far, the test notifications from the app & a text from my wife have come through.

Maybe that's all I needed.

Haha! I've been meaning to for a couple days now anyway.

Kept telling myself, "I'll do it at bedtime" then deciding it could wait till morning & forgetting.

Isn't that the first step in the IT troubleshooting guide? [emoji12] [emoji335]

With something like this, the connection is always my FIRST suspect. I toggled BT & etc. That's usually as good as turning it off in these cases.

Rebooting was definitely step 2 before resetting the watch.

I just received a new Android Wear app update. Of course nothing in the Read More / Update notes section. But when I opened the AW app there was a new message...Tap Here to turn on SMS permissions to send a SMS (text) reply from your watch during an incoming call. Set it up, rebooted my watch and called myself from my work phone. Sure enough, swipe Up, and the standard SMS options are there on the watch now (Can't talk now, etc.). Tapped one and the call ended and text sent to my work phone. It may not be a major update, but at least Google is giving us some new functionality and keeping the AW app updated.

I don't see that setting anywhere

Nice. No updates here that I've noticed. Definitely didn't have any added functionality like that earlier today when my phone was ringing. Standard answer/reject options.

Did you get the new app update? When I opened the AW app there was a blue box in the top center explaining the new feature. Tap that and it opens the Permission Settings for AW. Tap Permissions and slide the new SMS to ON.

On another subject, I still think that the Huawei Watch is still, by far, the best looking smartwatch out there. Do you believe it's wise to upgrade from my Moto 360 1st generation now?
Cheers
