Another software upgrade today.

hello, just joined droidforums. can anyone give me a link where i can learn how to root my i9505 samsung galaxy s4? been searching for the past hour but can't seem to find it. by the way, if there's a step-by-step guide for a tech-dummy like me...it will be greatly appreciated  . i bought my phone with a firmware belonging to Hong Kong and i can't update firmware version via Kies 3 on my PC or over the air, that's why i want to learn how to root my phone.

I'm getting the constant in my face - UPDATE is ready -
If you choose later - it wants to know when - lol - just like arguing with a kid. Are we there yet?
I keep pushing it away till I see more - what's up in here - Still on the fence of letting it do it.

Battery life was somewhat an issue all along - with very little stuff running in back ground -
any less of battery would be a bummer. If I go by what I used to be accustomed to with iPhone.
Not a fan of updates & mixed reviews. It's looking 50/50 so far.

A little test today - update software pending -
Let battery get to 100% -
Unplug and set the stopwatch in the background -
No calls or texting alert notifications - other than the update trying to get a response from me -
Checked battery after 1:30 minutes - Battery is 98%.

No one is saying not to do update - so I'll get brave and do it.
Then compare results again.

Update - Jan 02 14
Got the update out of the way - a little problem with Kies crashing repeatedly in step of doing backup first.
Battery is doing quite well -
8 hours now - 83% - I can live with that.
17 hours - 70%
