Anyone envy the RAZR maxx??? Stopped by the store and love that 3300 battery....

why is the razr so thing with a 3300mah battery, but the rezound is a brick with a 2750mah?

Better design along with the non-removable battery are the two factors I can think of that would contribute to the Maxx's thinner design. I really hate HTC.

Don't think so, my friend. I'm plenty happy with my extended battery as is though. I couldn't be happier with the phone.

so we shouldnt hold our breath for a comparable slim battery for the nexus?

The Razr uses a real strange battery, it's super thin and very big. It's nearly the size of the entire phone's footprint, but very thin. So what they did was just double the thickness and it still remained very thin. When you try to double the size of a Nexus or Rezound battery, it still has to fit in the small battery slot, so it creates a huge bump, but with the new Razr battery it can remain thin because it's so big.

Go to 3 minutes to see the battery.

I have Razr Maxx and gotta say this phone is a freggin beast!!! I can use simultaneous data and voice on 4g but not on 3g.... any takers why I can't?

3G never supported simultaneous voice and data and probably never will. This is the main reason for the introduction of 4G. Still you can use VOIP and data on 3G if you need it.

Not quite true but most phone implementations do not support SVDO which is 3G over CDMA. The Tbolt and Rezound unofficially support simultaenous 3g voice/data because they are using the Qualcomm SoC as well as the Qcom LTE modem. 4G LTE is strictly data until VZW rolls out VoLTE which they are waiting for full footprint coverage prior to deployment.

There has been a number of discussions on this subject in other threads and forums. Suffice it to say that there are ways to get around these limitations such as using a SIP client app or other VOIP app. I have found the GooVeIP app to be quite handy which utilizes GV and Gtalk for voice.

My 2 cents

The biggest downside to the Maxx is that it is Motorola. Their Nazi anti root policies have made them very unappealing to me.

That being said, if I was going to buy any Moto phone it would be the Maxx. Yes, battery life is worth the extra $100, especially when the battery can't be removed.

While they were adding more battery they should have improved the terrible screen. And eliminated the partitioned memory (sd, internal, sd-ext).

Maybe the next will be the Double Maxx and it will include a decent screen.

Think of the people who bought the Bionic - they don't even try to sell them anymore. Everyone is pushed to the RAZR.

And think of all the people who just bought a RAZR.

Lot's of pissed off people.

I'm glad I have a Nexus.

I'm not sure why they are pissed off. The display on my Razr is very very nice. I'm glad you got the GN too, but you are telling the wrong story on the Razr.

Yeah I have to agree...the Razr has about the best display you can get that isn't HD.

I would still rather have a 720p display. But the Razr's display does not suck IMO. And qHD is not awful.

I live in a 3G only area and I use internet while on the phone, but maybe it was cause I was on wifi at the time. I did the same on my X.

All I know is my Droid X went from a pretty decent phone to a reboating, laggy piece of junk after Moto gave it Gingerbread. I wouldn't doubt the same will happen when they update the Maxx. I'm happy with my GN. Plus going to a 4.65 screen has spoiled me.
