Asurion and the Maxx....

Hockey for POTUS!! Hockey for POTUS!!! I tried to help you out, but that hockey puck that currently lives in the white house won't leave.
It really sounds like just an issue if waiting for a phone to get in stock. I'm sure Verizon will have one sooner than Asurion and it would be a NIB phone too, not a CLNR. I'd keep going that route. Call every VZW store within a 50 mile radius and see if you can find one in stock and if you are really lucky and find one, ask them to hold it for you, call CS back and confirm that they will let you get that one for $99 and then jump on it. That's assuming that anyone has them in stock. I think Moto seriously underestimated the demand for the Maxx.
 
I called the *611 number and talked to a lady and told her basically I am paying the $7 or $7.99 or whatever it is for what? NOTHING!. She kept saying she understood, and if they had any in, she would just bypass Asurion and charge me $99 for a new Maxx. But they don't have any in. She said some might be in on the 26th, but don't hold my breath.

Okay was that new phones or refurb phones they don't have? Because my Maxx died last week(tail end of my 14 day return). I called Verizon Friday night they shipped me a new Maxx out Monday and I got it yesterday. No backordering or anything.. It came out of Memphis Tennessee. They have Maxx's the question is are they willing to FIND you one??

The problem is, they can do a warranty exchange, however once they see the damage, I get popped with $300 they said.





Someone sent me a PM mentioning small claims for full retail minus $99 against Asurion for breach of contract. Really don't want to do that, but we'll see.

take it to the Verizon store for a temporary replacement!

I had a similar situation with my daughter's phone awhile ago (damaged/unusable/no comparable one in stock). Got nowhere with Assurion but at the local Verizon store, they gave us a different model they had in stock, ordered the replacement, then made the swap when it came in. It meant she had to live without "her" phone for about a week, but that was better than NO phone.

If you haven't gone that route yet, please try it. Verizon was very accommodating.

None of the stores have no clue what you, and Asurion even are talking about. I have never heard of this either. Nobody does "Loaner" phones around these parts
 
Do you have an old phone you can use until the store or Asurion can come up with the maxx? Is the store level, CS willing to do the NIB to make up for the fact that Asurion doesn't have one?

if you don't have a phone to use for a week, go to ebay or swappa for a backup phone at a reasonable price. I'm sure there are plenty out there you can pick up that can be used as a good back up should you ever need it in the future too.
 
My mother just ordered a maxx about an hour ago from VZ corporate store they gave her a delivery date of 3/26. I don't know if the OP has grandfathered unlimited data but from what I understand if you activate a non-smartphone as a loaner you will loose your unlimited data. just something to keep in mind when looking for a good backup.

Well then I'm glad I don't live in your neck of the woods! :biggrin: I guess until you move to these parts you are stuck with unfriendly, ill-informed, unaccommodating Verizon employees (assuming you actually went to a Verizon store, not one of the mall kiosks or other retailers.)

I believe you, but it makes no sense that they wouldn't provide a loaner. Who would walk off with a used basic phone when they can go back and exchange it for a RAZR? Not to mention they have all your account information where they could easily charge you for the loss should you not return it. I guess they have never heard of a happy customer in your parts, either.

I'm glad you don't have your location displayed on your profile cuz I don't even want to know where you live! :icon_eek: Good luck and hope you can get a new phone soon.
 
Informed people know Asurion is utter garbage. Either add your phone as a rider on your home owners insurance or use SquareTrade. Btw, I'm in the same line of work as the OP. When I'm on the way to a "call", I take my phone out of my pants pocket and place it in a safe spot, away from view, somewhere inside the truck prior to arriving.
 
I ordered my maxx a week ago and they told me it would be shipped on the 26th. I actually got it on the 20th. The have them they just tell you a later date...

They said the GNex is the closest thing to the Maxx but still cannot because of battery size.


Spent 45 minutes on the phone with Verizon today with no luck. About to call Asurion...
 
Nothing but rudeness from this lady. Supervsior refused to do anything.

They both said it will take a week to get more possibly in, but there is a wait list. And I am not wasting my money by paying for insurance that won't produce.

Now what? What are my options? I am seriously considering legal action since I keep getting the "3-5 days" "5-7 more days" "oh we're backordered and we don't know".
