ASURION SUX! NO LONGER CARRIES Moto DROID!

No, sweeeeet, do like everyone else and take it to a Verizon store. The results seems to be more promising. Wonder why Verizon doesn't offer there own warranty service like Asurion. Heck if they are swapping phones left and right based on a customers word, then they should be getting the money that we are giving to Asurion.

that phone was already replaced from Asurian it was demolished (don't ask lol)

so should i take my droid with the 3.5 mm issues to a verizon store? i'd have to do a complete system wipe because of the ROM and kernels on the phone.

2 days 2 different stories

Lost my Droid while rushing bak to the clubhouse during a thunderstorm. If it wasnt for the great GPS caddie applications on the Droid I would have kept the thing in the car. I had to do the claim online, selected all the right info and was given the Devour and Eris as an option. I looked for info to contact customer service and was unable to select or find any other solution, so I hit save and exit.
Woke up this AM and logged in again, the Droid was listed as the replacement this time, so I selected it and I should be receiving it tomorrow. Let's hope its not a joke.

Here's my story.

I dropped my Droid when I was on my way to VZW store to buy the X. I never got the X and after few hours discovered that after I dropped it there's a dent on metal that surrounds the screen and I can't open the keyboard all the way now.
Called Asurion and was offered either Devour or Eris. I asked if it's possible to get the Incredible and was put on hold for few minutes. After that rep came back on phone and said that yes it's possible to get the Incredible but there will be few days of waiting as they are on back order.
Next day I call back in and play dumb. I tell them "I heard Verizon came out with the new Droid, can I get it instead?". Was put on hold again and then rep told me that her supervisor said under no circumstances to offer the X to anyone.
Whatever, was worth a try. I pretty much upgraded my old and beat up Droid to the Incredible for 90 bucks.

Just did my claim online and according to what they said should be getting a Droid tomorrow. If it's anything but a Droid I will be pissed!!!! Will see.

I just made a claim on my Moto Droid yesterday, and they are sending me a Moto Droid.... It will be here Tomorrow.

So am I. I just wonder why in the world they tried to feed a line of bull pucky to the OP by telling him they weren't going to be getting anymore. That has to be a pr nightmare. I'm sure they've heard of the internet, did they not think word wouldn't get around?

I'm sure the CSR OP spoke to had been told that no more droids would be coming, and as anyone can tell you, they aren't the most well informed people in these matters. Often it is through no fault of their own. Just a simple reminder that when you deal with customer service, do try to keep your calm and be polite. the people you're talking to are low on the food chain. People are probably getting Eris over Droid because they probably anticipated much more demand for the eris at launch and they never worked through the stock, or they got more back for refurb.

I filed a claim on Thursday, on-line, and my choices were the Eris and Desire. The note above it said the Droid is no longer being manufactured here are the replacement phones to choose from. I called our company rep and got a Droid X.

Still bummed out about that because I like the root!!!!

I am guessing your company bought you a DX because if Assurion started handing out the DX as a replacement, I could see a lot of "false claims" happening

Yes, We have a large account with Verizon and the Rep replaced it for free.

Does it state anywhere in the Asurion contract that if the your phone is not found, you will get an upgrade instead of a downgrade??

I know alot of pple were just told that they would be getting a Droid as a replacement. But, Just wondering, has anyone received a Droid thru Asurion in the past few days? I know they said they know have them, but I now take what they say with a grain of salt.

the best way to protect yourself is to print out the droid image fromo the screen. In case they send u a different brand.

Came here to ask about the same issue. Asurion sent me a Devour as well, and when I called Verizon, the rep's exact words were, "They sent you a Devour? Seriously? That piece of sh** is like half the price." So, I have a new Droid arriving Wednesday.
