It was about 3 years ago when the community expressed their anger at Verizon for plastering their logo all over the back of the Galaxy Nexus. Fast forward to 2014 and AT&T has not learned as they are plastering their logo all over the back on the Motorola Nexus 6. Will this change your tune about where you will buy your nexus 6?
I am now interested in seeing if Verizon will do the same thing.

May not be truly 'universal' unless you buy full price from PlayStore...

The point of frustration is as follows - Its a Nexu6, it is supposed to be 'pure' not branded, you brand cattle to show ownership. Nexi are not supposed to be branded, key word not supposed... Its supposed to be the one phone that is the pedestal of pure Android. Damn, can we get one phone is that not diluted...!!!?

It doesn't bother me.It balances the logos.

If I decide to buy one, I'll be purchasing off-contract from the play store or directly from Motorola so this doesn't really bother me. If you sign a contract for a device, it doesn't seem that ridiculous for a small logo to be on there. I do understand the frustration nonetheless though. I hate the tiny white Verizon logo on my wood backed 2014 moto x especially because of the fact I bought it off-contract.

I am fine with the logo on the back, already have my Spigen case ready for the phone to arrive.

However, if they altered the boot logo, or if this means we will have a locked boot loader or get updates differently, it will be returned.

To me that is the point of the Nexus a device without carrier branding or locked down. Add the carrier branding and a locked bootloader and I might as well buy a note 4, droid turbo, or something else. You buy an iphone regardless of carrier and there are no carrier branding on the back. I just feel like google is going down the same slippery slope that brought us the galaxy nexus. Ok maybe I am over-exaggerating but the people that gravitate to the nexus are people who care about those things. Plus my concern is if Google caved on the branding what else did they cave on and that is why I will stick with my strategy of buying it from either T-mobile, Google, or Motorola. Now I could be wrong, and I hope so, and the logo is just that and the nexus is still a nexus.

No over exaggerating as far as I am concerned, that is why I buy a Nexus.

If this Nexus is carrier ruined I would rather have the Note 4.

I will be shocked if you do not see the ATT boot logo.

At least they don't put the branding on the front of the phones like they used to. It's never bothered me since I always use a case, but I can see how it may be frustrating to others.

I wasn't upset when Verizon decided to put their logo on the back of the SGN. Heck, it was in the back after all. The front is what counts and Verizon left that alone. Even if so, I'd get over it eventually, it's not like some cheap sticker they put on, they at least make a good effort to put their logo that kinda blends with the device.

Does TMo brand their devices?

It's beyond logical that AT&T would do this.

Look...AT&T & Co. are giving the consumers an opportunity to receive this phone at either a reduced price, or a contracted price, or etc. So, if they want to "brand" the phone, then brand it!

If you don't want it like that, then pay outright via the Google Play store.

It's like if they put a bootloader on it. When things go awry, the typical consumer isn't going to contact Moto...they're going to contact AT&T and request that AT&T fix it. Now, as long as it's easily unlockable, I'm fine w/that too.

The only thing I wouldn't be fine with is if they put their apps on it. That would TRULY go against the idea of a Nexus phone, because everyone doesn't want to have to root their phones to remove things!

That is exactly why I buy Nexus phones @blacksoxing , I don't want to deal with root. That is what would be the killer for me. Again, logos I can deal with, but mess with my OS and you seal the deal on me returning it.

I am paying full price for this phone, albeit over time, but I just thought it would be easier going through At&t. If they are going to ruin my pure experience, I will just go through Motorola or the Play Store.
