Average monthly data useage.

Since the Droid is basically a computer that makes phone calls, I was wondering what the average users monthly data transfer is.

I know I've used nearly 400mb in my first month with mine.

I think I'm doing about half a gig a month right now. I don't use my phone for email too much. I also don't use nav that much but I know on this weekend trip I am on right now I will burn through a lot of data since I don't have my laptop with me. I bet everyones data usage will sky rocket when flash becomes available.

I know I will be on Hulu a lot.

currently at 5.2gb with 4 days left in cycle, this was without even trying. I am on my phone constantly, i barely go on my regular computer anymore.

next month will probly be double because i will be making use of PDAnet. (tether app)

hopefully the rumors about going over 5gb and getting charged are fake haha

Be responsible with tethering man. DONT RUIN IT FOR THE REST OF US. If you hog bandwidth, and abuse tethering, then the rest of the community will suffer. Don't be a moron and kill it for the rest of us...

You should only use tethering when its NEEDED, not as a ISP replacement. I hope you get slapped with a $2000 dollar bill....

nooo im totally not replacing any isp, just when im on the go or something, and ive only had that pdanet for like two days thats why i said it will probly be more next month, but ive only NEEDED to use it like twice, to send emails from a program on my computer.

i dont see why its a big deal, droid can display normal webpages so why whats wrong with just putting it on my computer. the one thing i hate about verizon.

People will slowly use it for more and more PC stuff, soon a few million will be playing WOW and then Verizon will pull the plug and make us pay for it.:icon_eek:

I am using about 2.5GB Average over the past 2 months February is more though, I'm noticing i'm adding about .4GB a month. So i might end up reaching Verizon's assumed cap. and i'm not rooted using tether. I just live out of my Droid. All the better though, if Verizon see's users hitting their suggested limit without faulty use, it won't be long before they either up the limit, or slap on a fee for over use.

which is bull****! because the plan says UNLIMITED so how the **** can they say oh well we decided 5 or 6 or whatever gbs is to much now?

my billing statememt is over on the monday so i will keep you guys posted to see if i get charged any extra for going over 5gb, this is my first month of doing this and it was without really trying. i listen to keith and the girl on google listen and thats mon-fri and each one is about 100mb so right there is 2.5gb not including pandora constantly streaming, facebook, and going online when im out and about. ive had verizon for the last 7years no problems at all, if they make this unlimited plan with a cap im going to be pissed
