Back to Stock Home Screen - anyone else?

Home++ here on 2.0.1 but when 2.1 arrives with the 5 screens I'll have to rethink using a home replacement. Home++ hides the taskbar though.... which i love.

I have tried them all.... and each time I go back to Panda.... it works the best without any issues that I can find.

Home++ had so many bugs it drive me nuts.... and it was slow... so was GDE.

Panda so far is as fast as the factory home on my phone anyway.

I have never switched and have even questioned the validity of manufacturer's skins like Motoblur or Sense. They just seem so unnecessary.

I got tired of it being cluttered and slower and force closing (I tried all of the free home replacements) so I bought AppsOrganizer and BetterCut and redid all my icons and created folders for everything and am much happier...I even have 6 extra spots that aren't filled!

I have used the stock home screen since I got the phone. I was always looking for more room on the 3 screens. But not anymore. I downloaded Apps Organizer. It allows you to group program icons into a few predetermined folders with nice icons. You can change the icons and name or even display no name (for the minimalist look) I use a normal folder for my quickdial contacts, but the folder icon is stupid looking and it would be nice to change it. All in all, 3 screens became no big deal.

add me to the list, I too was starting toget annoyed by the long loading times iwas getting. As much as I love theming and GDE I think I'm going back to stock until GDE gets a performance update or the 2.1 official update gets released. Its amazing how snappier my phone has gotten, its crazy to think how much having three screens really forces you think about what things are most important to keep (I don't even have a clock widget anymore since there is a perfectly good digital clock in the notification bar) and how it affects performance.

I'm with you and Myriad46 that Apps Organizer is "the bees knees" (Geico commercial joke). I also like how you can use your own images for the Folder...for example I named one "Tools" for those apps that I want to have available quickly like barcodescanner, etc. I have a friend at work that I have a picture of and used it for the Tools folder, and told him his picture fit the description very well for "Tools". He actually thought it was a funny joke.

My next question is, what is BetterCut? And, is it like Apps Organizer or something different?

better cut is an ap p that lets you change icons of apps that are on the home screen, not in a folder, like a shortcut to a direct dial or much used app like hand cent

I'll have to check that out....sounds cool. Can you create your own or do they supply the style of folder icon for you to select from?

damn i dont want 5 screens i keep mine mine pretty clean i like a sexy pic of a woman (perferally big booty) and the two side screens a phone widget and messaging and the other side google search. i played with the 5 on my moms eris and i just dont dig it

I have a picture of my gf on it and she's pretty hot so I like to be able to look at her, so I have my main screen with a row of icons on top and bottom and then I would like to have a screen for each set of icons as I feel like it would be less clunky than the folders I currently have. I wish launcher+ wouldn't keep force closing on me, as that would be exactly what I want - just more screens.

Hopefully 2.1 gets to droid soon...

I have to say, I wen't back to using the stock home screen and I actually prefer it now. I don't know if it is because I've been using GDE for a while and it is something new but it seems cleaner and smoother. Maybe because I have to organize better to fit everything on three screens
