battery life on LM

I am trying to install (flash) the SU2.1 but i am having issues. Im using SPRecovery and when i attempt to install update.zip it will start to, but then it says install aborted... any ideas? do i have to uninstall the SU2.2.2 first? and delete the apk??

There's no error number or it dosent say "bad" anywhere? I didn't remove other su before installing and have no problems.

Nope. The last two lines read:

'beginning installation...'
'installation aborted'

Thats it. I am going to attempt to find another SU2.1 file somewhere... we'll see how that goes...

Great thanks, I'll give that a shot when i get home. Much appreciated pal

No problem. I haven't used sp recovery in a while, I think you might hafta go to install-allow update.zip-installupdate.zip, i use rom manager or just clockwork mod recovery witch is a bit different i think (not totally sure tho)

Update::greendroid:

Running as my sig states and
125/800, on demand for active screen
125/250, conservative for screen off
125/400, temp+ 120f (48c)

I use my fone pretty regularly and get approx 23hrs. LOVE IT :icon_ banana:
Keep up the nice work Chevy

edit: i also never use any "syncs", even background is disabled, unless an app requires.

Aight, so i tried to use your dropboxed SU2.1, but couldnt get to it. i didnt have Dropbox, so i made an account and install the application on my computer... then went back and clicked on your link and it brought me to a sign in page and when i sign in it just brings me to my drop box, and i cant get to yours, even if i go back and click your link... not really sure how drop box works...

i found two other files online... one i think was the same you posted originally, and the other was from the UD site... it installed and i thought all was good, but when i went into SetCPU it said i didnt have root... check my apps and i had two SU apps... clicked on both and got nothin but a black screen. I went into Astro, clicked on the SU file (not the .zip) and it said the installed version was 2.0 :icon_evil:

I did a Nandroid recovery and all is running (good) right now, but id still like to get SU2.1 running t get that battey life and calm my temps down.

Thanks for the Help!

p.s. any chance you could just post the link directly to the file you have drop boxed... but outside of drop box? :)

Yea I can post it a little later tonight when I get home. You try clicking on link using phone? Using phone should trigger a download. I found it here on these forms, somewhere here in the jrummy section lol. Theirs an app called tapatalk that let's you browse these fourms easly that I'm on right now. Free version won't let you post tho

I am on Lithium and have been running now for 9 hours with no charge and normal usage. I am currently sitting at 80% battery life. I do have profiles setup in SetCPU and have had wifi, bluetooth, GPS and syncing turned off for most of that time. So far the I concur that battery life has actually been better for me then it was when on Kangerade.

I don't see how this is possible. With moderate usage I drop to about 80% after fours hours. Today I was was down to 30% after 14 hours, moderate usage. That's about my best.

Display takes up most of the battery usage (always set to low unless I'm outside) and cell standby is usually second. (no bluetooth or GPS usage, sync on)

That being said, with LithMod and Chevy's ULV kernal at 600/250 I've been getting the best battery performance yet. I still don't see how anyone can get 30+ hours out of their phone with "moderate" usage. Maybe with strictly standby...

What's the secret Peter?

Ok, so i just had a BIG scare. I flashed ClockworkMod and tried your original SU2.1 file that way. it installed fine and i was almost really happy, until i went into SetCPU and it said i was not rooted :icon_evil: I looked thorugh my ap drawer and there was no SU Permissions app :icon_eek: went to the SU apk via Astro and it said it was version 2.0!

So I figured that was my issue and i would just do a Nandroid recovery and all would be good n i'd be rooted again. Wrong! i tried a Nandroid recovery via clockwork, but oops, i didnt do a Nandroid Backup via clockwork cause i had recently done one via SPRecovery... apparently they are not the same cause clockwork could not find a file :icon_evil: Damn myself.

Almost panicked, but i found a SU2.2.2 file and flashed it. Everything is fine again. Just finished a Nandroid backup via Clockwork.

One concern though, i now have two Superuser Permission apps in my app drawer... any body know what the deal with that is?

2.2.2 has issues, I'd try and find 2.2.1 and load that, especially if you're using SetCPU. I'm pretty sure there is a link here somewhere; look in Chevy's thread.

I'm not sure what's up with the double SU apps, try removing the old one via Titanium Backup.

Using JDLFG's LV 800 kernel and JuiceDefender I made it almost 34 hours yesterday. Yes, a lot of that time is with the phone not doing anything, but I do use it to stream shoutcasts while driving and the usual browsing/emails etc. Heavier use will certainly shorten that life, but I think to say Lithium Mod has battery drain issues would be incorrect.

For what its worth I run at 800/300 normal, 300/300 standby, and have JuiceDefender scheduled to turn off the radio entirely between midnight and 7 AM. Wifi is only turned on when I'm at home in the evenings and bluetooth and GPS is always off. I can't imagine having autosync disabled.

here you go

GRRRRRRR!!! didnt work. it flashed, but yet again when i went into SetCPU it said i didnt not have root access etc etc. flashed back to SU2.2.2

thanks for all your help Foxdog, unfortunately my phone hates the world lol
