Battery Life Razr Maxx sucks since ICS update.

Ok at least I'm not alone hopefully it gets better I love ICS my phone seems to run smoother and faster just concerned on battery I could go a couple of days without a charge..... I did notice my 3g is fixed my network extender was the issue I was showing a 1x until I reset the network extender all is fine there. So that might help on battery so its not searching for the stronger signal between wifi or 3g.

How do you get your phone on 3G when its no longer an option to select?

Ever since the update my screen has been a large contributor to battery discharge. The da** thing goes in "full" brightness when it in low lighting conditions :/(. I need to find an app that lets me fix this bug.

Try taking a look at lux dash it does a good job of controlling auto brightness and allows the user to set customer levels bases on the ambient light. I have noticed though that the range of brightness in ics is larger...meaning the dimmest setting is darker than gingerbread

I've notice the battery on my MAXX draining faster as well. While I'm loving ICS I am hoping for improvement on the battery.

So for all of you with the drop in battery life, make sure you change your network setting to cdma/lte...the default was global. I changed this setting when I first got the update and my battery life was at least on par with gingerbread. Give that a try and see if this helps at all

I did a restore and this seemed to fix my battery drain. I now get about 2 days of good use.

There is no way to only select 3G mode. But i have noticed i stay on 4g better.

I traded my Galaxy Nexus for a RAZR Maxx in favor of better battery life about a week ago. It lasted all day, sometimes 2. Last night I "upgraded" to ICS and now I have almost the same battery life as my Nexus did...

I would restore the device. It's a PITA but i think your battery issue should be resolved.

It's not in the settings any more, but there certainly is a way to get into 3G only mode. It's even been mentioned in this thread already : [How To] Enable 3G only mode

How do you restore the ics to see if you get better life?

Go to settings > privacy > factory data restore.

This does wipe the device.

I actually think my battery is about the same if not maybe a little better with ICS. With GB i was getting 12 hours and the phone was at 15% or so and that was with light to moderate use. Today I have been on my phone all day trying to fix my contacts cause each one was in there 3-6 times. Was driving me crazy when I went to type in a contact for texting. I have also been searching the interenet for stuff and facebook and some email. Im at 11 hours 50 minutes and at 30%. I have not been on the phone this much since I got it so I want to say its actually better. I will find out for sure tomorrow when I go back to my normal use on the phone. I also have smart action features turned on. So when Im at home it disables my cell data and turns on wifi and some other options.
