I don't have a stock .886 backup. Just liberty. Can I do a .905 update zip to ics zip? Without loosing root?

No you will lose root once you are on ics. But you can easily reroot using the razr moto fail method. Just be sure you are on the unsafe side of safestrap before you try updating. You use safestrap right?

Well no. You need to be on stock 905 to take the ics update. The good thing about timmys script is that it brings you to stock 902. Then you boot into stock recovery and flash the 905 update and then the ics update. Keep in mind the 905 reads 902 and the ics reads 905. Confusing ain't it?

So did you flash liberty over your stock ginger bread rom? Safestrap is essential for rooted users who flash roms.

In that case you will probably have to fxz to 902 using rsd lite.

Just boot into recovery and flash the first file up there....then the second one. Then reroot ics?

Phooker, here is a link to the fxz 902 process you need to use in order to get back on track. Make sure you have plenty of battery life before you go into any of this.
