[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for the Droid X

I am new to actually posting here on the forums....I've been hanging around gleening as much info as I can since I got my DX about a year ago. Have to thank everyone here for providing such a wealth of information. Over the past year I've probably flashed just about every ROM that looked interesting and I stuck with Liberty for the longest. I recently switched over to CM7 and love it so far, even with the bugs....they're expected in a beta. I've noticed a few posts throughout this thread about people thinking that cvpcs should start including fixes in the nightlies, I'm not sure if alot of people realize, but the nightlies are put out by a program and not hand made. at least thats what I got out of the explanation of a nightly here: Still Loading ... » blog:2011-06-18:cm7_droid_x_nightlies_go_live

Again, A big Thank You to all those who have helped me learn all I have and I hope i can help a few along the way from here on out.

cvpcs has done many fixes and they go right into the nightlies. he just hasnt done the camera one because the fix is to use moto files, which he doesnt want to use because it's not built from google source. I think the mms problem was caused by the cross platform updates that go into the nightlies. I have no idea how or when that will be incorporated into the nightly.

If the camera fix uses moto files can't he just use moto files to get camcorder working?

Someone should ask him cause I see that as a way to fix it since he doesnt want to.include moto stuff to cm and when can.just apply the fixes in clockwork

he does everything from source....which is open for everyone to work with, but the moto files arent open for anyone to work with, thats why he hasnt included them

Yeah I thought I installed it after flashing the new nightly... guess it didn't take.. Retried it and its fine now thanks.. Just no camcorder is the only problem I see now. Yay

I think camcorder can be fixed with liberty parts since liberty lets you choose between aosp parts and blur parts at will so anyone think that can work possibly?

I do have a Liberty 2. whatever backup (for recording puposes) and since they use the same camcorder I'm going to try and back up the camera from there on TB than restore it on CM. See if it will work

ok cool you may want to backup the camera to on liberty just in case camcorder needs to function with the camera from liberty

i wish it were that easy. there are a ton of "parts" involved when you use the camera and camcorder. liberty is working off of the blur framework. cm7 is not. so, it's a little tricky. I'm sure someone will figure it out sooner or later, if cvpcs doesnt first.
