Bionic Reviews decent or wait till Prime?

It's something you only notice if you know to look for it. Just stop thinking about it and it'll go away. ;-)

I don't see what why someone would need the Prime.
The Bionic seems good enough.

I agree with you that the Bionic is good enough, but I don't see any problems with waiting to see what a phone designed for Ice Cream Sandwich is like. The Bionic will get ICS and it'll run fine, but it's still a phone designed for Gingerbread. However, if the wait is measured in months rather than weeks, I'll be upgrading to the Bionic or a similar phone.

some of the people i work with love the Ip4, and after they played around with my bionic, they got even more upset with their little toy

Hmmm....debating on whether I want to go get the Bionic tomorrow when I get off shift or keep the D2 I have. I have been reading all this about the Bionic and it sounds like a great phone. I currently have the D2 but since GB downloaded onto it....it sucks. Do I buy or wait to see whats on the horizon? Like someone earlier posted if you wait for something better you could always be waiting.......

I think the question is: Are you waiting for something better, or waiting for something that you like? If you wait for something better, you are correct, there is always something better looming on the horizon. However, if you wait for what you like, it will only be a matter of time until that phone comes out and it's very likely the Bionic will fit that bill.

If you check out the Bionic and it is everything you want, then I see no reason not to buy it.

You can compare it to the prime but who really knows when the prime will come out. Yeah, its "supposed" to be in october, but the bionic was also "supposed" to be out in Q1 of this year, and then every month it was delayed further. I guess if you dont need the phone right now and can wait, check out what's out when you're in the market for one.

For me, I wanted a dual core 4G phone, and the bionic fits that, plus i was also forced into a new phone asap, since my D2 crapped out last week and the no longer sensed anything on the touch screen.

So are you saying that Google will release ICS in October or November (and yes, it has been confirmed at this point) with NO flagship phone to show off the new update to the operating system? Doubt it...

The screen looks great. Just because some review junky doesn't like specs or type of screen used. Judge for yourself.

Folks, you must also consider the market that Motorola is trying to go after! The Bionic, coupled with the LapDock, allows for laptop / tablet processing using ONE device! No need for a tablet & phone & laptop now you only need your laptop and the Bionic LapDock! You process everything using the Bionic, and unplug the device and the data travels with you. Couple that with the ZuneCast software (ability to connect to your remote desktop PC or laptop) and MotoPrint (print to your printer in your WiFi network) it is an almost fully functional laptop/tablet! ! Buy the LapDock when you get the Bionic and I think you get 50 bucks off & still get to send off for a $100 rebate. That brings the Bionic $299 plus LapDock (11 inch screen with keyboard) $150 total to $449 ! Nearest Tablet price? ? $499 Xoom... Do you have the grandfather unlimited data plan? Wow! ! ! There are other options (less $$) to get the Bionic to connect to a TV and Bluetooth keyboard to make your own "lapdock". Wonder if the Samsung Prime is going to do any of this? Wait and see....

If you wait for the Prime, by the time it's released the next great phone will have been announced and will be 2 months away.. so you wait for that one.. and another phone is announced for Q1 of next year so you wait... and then another phone is announced....

Well, I see what your saying but I have a different view. I gotta see this Prime. If its not all that cracked up I can reverse to the Bionic or something else at a reduced price. And my contract ending 1/1/2012 has ,me sitting pretty patiently.

Im going to wait for either the prime or the vigor, sure there will be newer phones always coming out, but for a flagship phone to be obsolete in a couple months because the next generations phones will have HD display is a no brainer. The vigor and prime will both have 1.5GHz dual core CPU s, which is a gigantic leap from the bionic's 1GHz. The best part is they will have unlockable bootloaders so we can overclock to a close 2.0 GHz, and be able to keep up with the quad core cpu phones that are around the bend.

Costco might not sell prime

Buying the costco bundle, then hoping to sell the package back off with only taking a minimal hit on retail prime.

So I was at Costco today asking about the Bionic and the verizon rep there said I could bring the Bionic back within 90 days, HOWEVER, he went on to say that Costco has NOT heard any word on whether they are even going to sell the Prime at Costco. He said they've known for months about selling the Bionic but here we are 1 month from Prime coming out and Costco still doesn't even know if they will sell it.

My point is...if you think you are bringing the Bionic back after 30 days and expecting a refund, they won't give it to you. After 14 days, you can exchange for a different phone, and if they don't sell the Prime, then you may be screwed! That's all I'm saying...
