It looks like a beast, but what functionality would that lip serve if there isn't a keyboard? And its rumoured to have a 1750 mAh battery.... can we expect a nice battery life with that?

Sad considering the original bionic confirmed to have a 1930mAh battery...I was elated to see the original battery size over the tbolts 1300 ish

Well it also depends on how much juice it will suck, which with all things considered seems like it will be a guzzler --hopefully not though as this will be replacing my POS phone--

Until we see a side-profile picture of the new hardware, there is no way to know what purpose the lip serves. It must simply be an ergonomic feature though, because if it was a slider you'd think the leaked photos would have shown the keyboard. That would have been huge news.

Regarding the battery life, I believe the Samsung Infuse on AT&T has a 1750mAh battery with a 4.5" screen and is said to have excellent battery life (at least according to Android Central's review). The main difference would be screen type & LTE hardware, but it's possible that that battery is sufficient.

The Droid 1 has antenna components in the "chin" section. Also, the chin will allow you to hold the phone to watch movies and videos.

Am I missing something? I don't think I've ever needed the chin on my droid to hold it to watch movies/videos.

Granted, the OG had hardware in the chin, but this isn't the OG, that's why you improve on design, so you don't have to have an extra quarter inch of plastic on the phone that looks like crap.

Not entirely true. For upgrades you'll still get the discounted price, my guess is $249. Granted, I don't even think it's worth it. The original Bionic I would have paid $300 for easily.

Yeah I was talking full price. You can figure what ever they charge for insurance for a year is pretty much what the phone is worth. There all made in China
